Hybrid stroker project

One thing that is changing in the race world is the multi-angle valve job. A lot of good shops are now using CNC machining to do valve work, that means you can program in curves instead of step angle changes. You still need some sort of angle change to make up the vale seating point on the port - but all the rest can be curves.
I have the Superflow data for Sid's head and the flow curve is amazing especially considering how much it cost him to do. Hopefully we can completely document a low cost path to a 250 cfm 951 head including porting diagrams and dimensions.

That head is certainly not a 'low cost' effort - so if you can get anywhere near that you are doing great!

Sid, was the 250cfm number at a 100mm bore, or 4.155?
bad b***h indeed...
ive been going back and forth on doing a standard rebuild vs a hybrid stroker with this sleeved block i picked up and had decided a standard build on sunday..but now....

If I remember correctly Alain's head (done by a real old school expert) flowed close to 250cfm at stock opening height (249.6 - I looked it up!). More importantly is was up to 208 cfm on the exhaust side - that was a 35% improvement.

Regarding the head, I have to thank the Internet and especially yellowbullet.com. It's a site where some of the top dogs in the heads up street cars hang out and there are some top builders posting a lot too. There is a dedicated thread to showing off port work. I learned a ton and copied some of it. What I'm most proud of is that they are pretty equal across all cylinders. Sarno tried to talk me into going to tge 49mm valves but I just had to say enough at this point.
Spencer, this is 4.155 bore and flowed using that tube. Having the larger bore allowed for quite a bit of un shrouding.
I can't wait to get it on the track. If all goes well I'm going to try to race this 1/2 mile top speed event in June or July.

I use the fogs. I have all 4 wired up with separate relays and 100 watt bulbs in each. Not great but works ok.

Eric, the pipes are 3". The compressor outlet is 2.5.
That is my oil fill/catch can. It is a moroso unit that is the first stage of the catch can system. Hopefully I won't be seeing too much oil in the front can. The moroso unit is pretty cool, bc it has a straight through tube from the top to the bottom outlet that is separate do can be used for filling. It has two other outlets that are for vapors. Not cheap to do the whole setup (about 350 plus custom fittings for the block) but it should work well.

Put some miles on this week. Changed the oil and changed the WG spring to the 17psi combo. Car is crazy fast. Close to maxxing out my maf. I was at 4.7v on the last motor on my highest mph run. I'm over 4.8-9 now. I am in awe TBH. Looking forward to tracking it soon!
Couple of pics I took tonight. Gonna try to get a go pro mounted up in the car. I CANNOT hold an iphone and drive this thing, It's just too dangerous!!

Are you going to run it on a dyno Sid? Be great to see the changes and where your power is coming in/falling off (if at all!).

I'll probably take it to the strip first.
The way this thing is running, I may up the rev limiter for a couple dyno pulls. I'm thinking it'll really pull to 7500 now. It sings right to 7k and doesn't seem to be slowed at all!!
Big difference..
