Also, I plan on using my LS1 powered car to pull my Porsche powered car to the race track in the future (down the road a few years)

A more typical 400rwhp 2.5L motor would be 1120rwhp or, say, 1320hp at the flywheel.

No. Thats one of the finer points of a Porsche. High strung tho....yeah I guess. I could see that.
Nowadays Porsche isnt even about small engines. To me its about pushing the envelope. In regards to the v8 swaps, to me its low tech, vs high tech. GM OHV v8 = boring ***, low tech, crap. IMO. SOHC i4 turbo = higher tech. Its just plain more advanced. Porsche is about advancement, innovation, etc. Plugging a GM V8 in does none of those. It just gives you a bit cheaper HP. Those engines are so low tech its boring. At least theyre finally Al.

I knew I was gonna catch hell for my V8 comments. LOL Yes they can push big power. No doubt about that. But theyre played out, boring, and IMO low tech. Not that the 951 is high tech by todays standards by any means. But what has really changed on those V8's other than efi, and Al, since like the 50's? Hell they were even Al ones in the 50's if I recall. Just plain boring. A 3.0 4 banger, is impressive, hell a 3.0 4 banger is almost unheard of. Frickin cool to me! Hehehe, my next project will be a 3.7t 968. If the rumors of a crank with a stroke long enough to displace 3.4l come to reality. Just need to find a worthy 968 this year.

Im a deadhead, not a hippie, there is a difference. Believe it or not.

Hollow Camshaft
Bay-to-Bay breathing
Complete roller valve-train
Replicated ports
15degree Heads
32bit ecu
Alloy block
6-bolt main caps
Composite intake
Powdered metel rods
Low-tension rings
significantly lighter rotating assembly (then previous Generations)
Coil per plug
Furthermore, the LS1 doesn't share ANY part with ANY pre-existing SBC. NONE of the parts of interchangeable.

I can't argue your opinion, but I can state some of the facts about an LSX.
Hollow Camshaft
Bay-to-Bay breathing
Complete roller valve-train
Replicated ports
15degree Heads
32bit ecu
Alloy block
6-bolt main caps
Composite intake
Powdered metel rods
Low-tension rings

I see your point. But still when compared to the likes of some like a Bugatti w16, its quite obsolete. Given thats comparing perhaps some of the most high tech, but I think you get my point.
I have to admit im bias, my brother is a poorvette guy. Weve been arguing about poorvette, and porsche for years. All biases aside tho, its still not impressive IMHO. If you want cheap, generic motors..err I mean general motors is the way to go. You get what you pay for tho.
