Yes even in this very 'soft' initial tune you will notice the extra torque I'm guessing!! You just wait Darwin.
Like a storm on the horizon....it's coming.

Good progress!

Even 100 lbs injectors on a 2.5l batch fire pump gas is possible to get good A/Fs and smooth power delivery. Bucking or hesitation is in the tune, you shouldn't have to change to smaller injectors.

Haven't replaced the rain drip tray yet, that's pretty much it...

We didn't drop injector size for that reason. Here's the gist:

Was running stupid rich at idle, and adjusting the FPR almost all the way down to nothing didn't change anything. We were baffled how the FP gauge could read 10 psi and not change the AFR... We thought an injector may be bad, so Chris sent me a set of new Siemens 80# high impedence injectors he had in his shop, along with a fuel rail to fit them (they are much shorter than standard bosch style injectors). I also bought a new FP gauge to put on this rail as well. Turns out I think the old gauge was bad, because as soon as I turned on the ignition to check for leaks, the FP gauge pegged at 100psi! (I did not change the FPR setting while doing the injector/rail swap, it was as it was when it was running before) Actually the needle started having a seizure so I think it was quite a bit more. Anyways, adjusted it down to around 40psi with the FPR and all seems way better now!

I hate dealing with fuel!...

Agree 100%. I've got 80lb high impedance injectors, and a 3bar regulator....on an NA car.

My car idles smoother with the new, larger injectors than it ever did with the stock ones. Rock solid AFRs all through the rev range as well.

Fuel is all about the tuning!

I know I know! Lol I'm new to this whole tuning thing and Chris is on vacation out of the country...I'm doing my best to get things tuned without inadvertantly blowing something up!

Darwin,
You need to run enough fuel pressure as to deliver enough fuel at WOT. Set your fuel pressure and leave it alone then tune from there.

Tom is a great guy, I have talked to him on quite a few occasions.

Yes, you are correct. For tuning purposes we chose to set it initially in the 35-40 psi range, and will dial it in accordingly. If you make it over tomorrow, we can play with it some to see if the idle will improve.

Ugh...found my exhaust leak. The most ridiculous bolt on the downpipe...I had to make a special allen wrench just to tighten it off the car, so let's hope that it will still get to it on the car.

Also have two oil leaks, one on the passenger side, and one on the drivers side. Both are very minor (the car, after sitting overnight, only leaves about 3-4 drops the size of pennies on the ground) but we can't have oil leaks at all!

Oh and the drivers side front tire went flat on me...$700 for new tires!? WTF!? I hate 18s...

I think you are still covered in snow, but you have car events planned this year for your reborn machine?

Best way to celebrate is to go have some real fun with it you know!

Maybe your hatch will revisit Bonneville I know there will be events at Miller Motorsports Park, and I made a new friend who knows where the car events are. May put it in a car show!

The main straight at Bonneville is 10 miles long. I doubt that was in a mile tho.
