So yes.. it was in a mile, but that mile is about 4 or 5 miles from the starting point of the run!

In a mile.......... well not even in my wettest dream!
The salt surface is slick and in spots more like gravel....
My mph timing was at the 2.25 mile mark
Did in on a 26/6 turbo and very mild other mods - chip, exhaust, 3bar fpr, boost controller. removed mirrors, taped seams and gutted interior at the event to get it done.
It took every single bit of 2.25 miles to get it to 160.

My runs were timed at 2.25 mile mark. The USFRA class required shutdown at that point with no option to continue beyond. 2.25 miles. Also we run one direction, not both.

How much Salt do you get up under the car and how hard is it to clean off?
Sorry for OT Darwin.

Patrick, no apology necessary! I should be asking the same question as I am toying with the idea of running at Bonneville and seeing what my car can do. I remember a story of Vaseline and plastic wrap (correct me if I'm wrong 2bridges).

It is horribly corrosive and tough to clean. Some guys put the car on jack stands and run a sprinkler under the car a week moving it around.
I was under the car an entire day scrubbing and hosing - and still saw evidence later i did not get it all.
The most effective tip I saw was packing Vaseline in the wheels wells and applying plastic wrap.... this traps the fine salt and keeps it from infiltrating the crevasses and seams.
No fun but the price of admission.

Well they say speed costs right? many of those costs can extend well beyond $$...
Also thanks you for the clarification on the runs... only experience I have with it is my turbo builder (local guy) goes out every year to support a couple of clients at speed week.

Well done It feels good to finally drive your project doesn't it
Looks great. The rear hatch and wing looks great. Thats off a 90 or 91 turbo I'm guessing.
