Very true, and I was aware of this and have not been running the engine very much, only 10-15 minutes at a time to try and lean things out (absolutely no driving). Turns out (after datalogging and e-mailing) that a few specific software options were on that shouldn't have and we can get it at least to the point where it isn't burning my eyes and giving me headaches. Tomorrow I will load the new map and hopefully we can start to dial in the AFRs.

Basic 944 turbo rule #1 –
Never start your car and rev it up if the back of your car is facing a white garage door….
Brand new exhausts will do this a lot worse – the engines do run on the rich side and all the carbon will collect in the exhaust – if its nice new stainless it does not stick to the interior of the exhaust well – and when all the condensation forms as it cools it will create a nice black sooty snot laden ‘sneeze’ when you start it up!
