My new BW K29 divided T4 A/R 1.0

I calculated (but am not exactly expert on calculating turbo efficiency) that this turbo should work with 3.0, but now that it is here, I doubt I will be able to fit it in. This thing is HUGE.

What say rennlist?

Completed purchase of an '89 S2 and freshly remaned 2.7L 8V heads + sodium filled valves, turbo intake & exhaust manifolds. Haven't chosen a specific manufacturer's turbo, pistons or rods yet.

I plan to build a conservative 104, 88 engine using the nickasil block treatment + squirters. The build officially begins this September when the car arrives. Will keep you posted when the car is finished.

Suggestions welcome After I've finished reading all 51 pages of this thread I may change my goals.

Well, it's a bit H-U-G-E, isn't it?

Funny how such a large compressor wheel is needed when a Garrett GT will flow the same with a much smaller compressor wheel in a more compact turbo...

It was an impulse buy, I thought size is at least a little bit smaller. It looked smaller on-screen.

I will either use it for K29/27/26 hybrid (in worst case) or sell all the turbos I have and buy ceramic BB integrated waste gate & rec. valve Borg Warner EFR with titanium aluminide shaft and turbine, aluminum center section and stainless divided T4 A/R 0.92 hot side.

I think twin scroll EFR 7670 would be a nice match for 3.0 engine and since it has sufficient size integral WG it simplifies things and saves at least $1k.

I wouldn't buy anything from that breaker, he's way overpriced. He advertised a used DME for $700+, you could buy an uprated new one from Rogue for less.

****. He is also the only one that has 3.0 block that I need now. "#$%ing bad luck.

Do you know of any 2.7/3.0 block I could buy in UK?

Thanks!

This thing weights a ton. I almost dropped it when I got it delivered. Well it looked good at first, but the more I get in to turbo science, the more I want twin wastegated EFR 7670 with all the candies included. It is expensive, but it greatly simplifies intake and exhaust design and in grand scheme cost less. Two quality wastegates together with blow-off valve come over $1500 on their own.

Besides, it looks gorgeous

I got something nice yesterday

Milledge 2.7/3.0 head studs. They don't have any markings, but I think these are made by raceware.

Try asking on the Tipec forum for a block, shipping would be the issue probably. Are those studs the right length for the head you will be using, 2.7 are shorter than 3.0 16v.

Ive bought block from UK and shipping was ~70€.

Studs are 2mm longer (152mm) than factory 2.7 studs. But it is probably to compensate for thicker washers and longer nuts. These are for 3.0 block & 8V head.

I will ask on tipec, thanks.
