1/4 Timeslips. Best 10 on the list? --Video

I was going to suggest the same thing that it may say Porsche on the time slip as there are some documented 911s getting into those times, however even a 700HP EVO 996tt was only posting 11.4's with high 120mph on race gas at our strip. So, I was a bit skeptical even though would love to hear of a 951 able to do that.

Wednesday night, fuel pump or not, we're running. Meth injection isn't sorted out yet so we're going to run c-16 with some serious timing and boost. Any Idea what kind of timing I should aim for with a stock motor, super 61 stg V, and about 18psi of boost? I'm guessing about 16 or 17 degrees?? at about 5500 RPM perhaps more. I'll post a map when I get home!
Let me know If any of you have advice about how to tune for higher octane!

At 18psi on C16 I would think you could run 20 degrees safely at 5500rpm, probably more, but each engine is different so you need to go up in small increments to keep it safe.

Yes I would say you should be able to run over 20 degrees given everything is right Fuel wise.
You can run more on spoolup and taper down.
If you can make a 3rd gear pull log boost knock timing afr we should be able to see.
You could also try to up the timing (and fuel) on a short 3rd pull until knock is present then pull a couple degrees.

VERY close to the 11's. It's really a matter of a better launch at that point to hit 11's.

is 120mph near the rev limit in third ??
I haven't read the last 10 pages of the thread but it looks like the fastest quarter mile set up for these cars is 951 gearing and perhaps increased redline .. as it seems shorter gearing means an extra shift

No I think shifting at around 6.8k gets me like 104-105mph in 3rd. 120 is too far of a stretch in that gear. In the 1/4 you are going to have to shift into 4th. No way around that when the traps get up that high.

earlier in the thread it had said that Ok then it's still not clear what is the best gearing the shorter twin cam ratios would be slightly quicker through third but could be tricky in first and second with wheel spin issues

Have you a list of your cars modifications and weight?
Nice going by the way.
