Ok but how do you mount 265's on the front I assume tire height is 35 in that occasion, and 30 in rear. My car with speedline race wheels will look like this. I had 11 inc on rear and 10 on front:

The wheels really stick out. and I cant go for different offset becase then i have tire rubbing the frons springs. ´

Duke, I will pm you..

Gustaf,

Is there somekind of Leda group buy going on in Sweden?

Two of my friends have a Lead setup and they are satisfied.

Hey Marcus,

With the standard body, we were able to mount 245 in front, and 285 rear - btw that is Pirelli size indication (if you run Dunlops, for instance, it will be 235 and 265 respectively).

Our car is a wide-body conversion (you can see it at www.944-racing.nl), and could run 350 in the rear if we needed this. We could also run 285 in front, but we do not need it.

kind regards

Ron

PS our car is also lower than yours, I am guessing by about 3-4 cms.

I just didn't want to comment on this earlier this year, there was so much BS during last winter around the whole group buy and LEDA and proper spring rates for 951... I got my set,and a friend of mine his, with the specification we wanted ( similar ones ) and they works just fine, can't complain!
And that friend of mine did Nürburgring with his 300hp (flywheel) car and LEDA's in 8:36,so it can't be that awful...

BTW,our spring rates are around 400/850lbs... ...torsion bars deleted, Weltmeister rear bushings.

Oh! Sorry I didnt know, or at least didnt remember! I didnt intend to be negative about LEDA! For facts, I`ve been wanting a set for a long time now, and I`m maybee going for a set this winter. Thats why the question

400(front)/850(rear)?? Doesnt that make the car very stiff at the rear, and making it overstear?

Anybody got any videos etc from a LEDA setup car at the track?

Spring and effective rates at 944's rear suspension are two completely different things when using coil-overs t-bars deleted, the arm that effects a spring is much shorter than wheel's arm, hence high spring rates at rear.

Oversteering...? No,on the contrary std 944 suspension is set to heavy understeer.968 CS with M030 is closer to neutral and this set is pretty much balanced too...and now you can fiddle better with stabilizer's settings. Spring rates are a straight imitation of 944 Turbo Cup's rates.Which uses progressive springs,we have main and helper at each corner.

I must admit that it is pretty stiff, but not unbearable.Very good at dry track but loses some grip at wet,and I do not recommend it for winter driving!
Don't plan these rates if you're biased to comfort,968 CS M030 is then better for you,but I don't even have a radio and will install bucket seats etc during the dark days of winter...

I completely agree with Pete. And you are best to leave a little understeer if your engine has any power, unless you are Alonso.

850# is very very stiff. What are your sources for the rear rates of the Turbo Cup?
Also, the Turbo Cup setup is made for slicks and according to a few suspension experts too stiff for R-tires.

Most suspension manufacturers for our cars actually tend to advice equal spring rates front and rear.
This summer we ran 550/650 lbs and have been trying to dial out oversteer all season..

Perhaps you guys are running big differences in tire width front and rear, like 285 rear and 225 front?

Duke, sources are few reliable publications and H & R,their ClubSport set uses identical spring rates.
I use 225/255's Tommy 225/265's,we've both been faster at the track this season.

Havemt write for a while. I had a testrun from 100-200 on local abaondond airfield gained some sub 8.9 seconds and my stock clutch was slipping even with 3rd gear, time for upgrade .

Also It is getting cold I can spin the wheels even with 3rd gear on dry darmac so time to put this baybe on the garage for sleep.

Winter plans are:

New leather alcatara interior, no 2 clour bling bling here just really conservative light mocca colour. My stock driver seat is really bad condition so in needs to be rebuilded.

As far as suspension:
I have decided to rebuild my current Koni setup.

Overall look of the car:
I have decided to re paint it to factory "RIVIERA BLUE", not so many cars around here.

Wheels:
996 turbo twist 18*10 rear, 18*8 on front. painted in MATT BLACK

Engine:
New piston rings and, new main and shaft bearings, new valve quides, stiffer valve springs, new camshaft, adjustable cam gear. Mirror polisch intake manyfold, little port job there. New FMIC( better flowing one)

Clutch:
Install GT2 clutch (good for 331 kw)

Anyway as I have decided to keep P on the garage for winter, hopefully I will get my winter car next week. IT will be Audi S6, 2.2 turbo 169 kw, 4wd, 6 speed manual. Of course I will install the chip and better exhaust system to make it dirvable ( 290 hp at least)

See ya

Some more things to do this winter.

Can anyone direct me where i can get bigger intake valve (48mm) and 7mm shaft and exhaust valve stock size but 7mm shaft. Im planning to do some upgrades on cilinder head and valves or one of them. Just I dont know where to get those?
