black951- I had thought of it, but decided I'm no good at painting. I am going to go over the whole bay with foamy engine brite, simple green, and a toothbrush. So it should get rid of some of that baked orange color. If it comes out all an equal shade of zermat, it should look cool. And keep the temps down! Or up? Whatever.

DanG.........i had an 83 n/a that was zermatt silver and i painted her black too! i didnt do the engine compartment because it would have meant pulling the engine etc......but you have yours out so take advantage of that.......PAINT IT BLACK!!!!!!!!! just clean everything down....degrease it and mask of everything you dont want paint on........even a can of black spray will do the job....it doesnt have to be too critical in there.......just take your time....you will be glad you did!!!!
