Droo & Hoi are correct, post #1286 are of the more bulbous 16" phone-dials. Pic of 15's below. T

Huh. Then those must be 70-series tires!

Nate - you need this car! I still cant believe the mileage. Its in incredible shape - and like all these 86.5 5-speed cars, so fun to drive. I've never been a fan of white cars or tinted windows, but this looks good in white with tinted windows.

I love white cars. Every new car I ever bought was white. And white with tint I think is very complimentary!

Thomas I think this car just might. Your white 86.5 on the other hand, perhaps one of the nicest 928s I've seen in person to date, that car would bring $$$$! Still can't believe the deal you got on that car!

Thank you Nate! It seems the leather is same quality as mine, I wonder if 86.5 was a good year for leather quality (at least the black). Mine is also very soft unlike my 88 which is hard.

Have you started your engine yet?

Not yet. Getting very close. Unfortunately my summer was more busy than anticipated. Life has calmed down now and I'm able to get back into the garage.

Jeezus Dennis, where do you find these things? Another good looking 86 5 speed, no rub strip. GLWS! (I love the pin strip - whoever gets this, keep it!)

PS - still loving my garnet red 85 DD. Altho time to put it away. Those tires (Hankooks) are nice and sticky in the warm weather, but the other morning, I pulled fast out of an intersection in order to get in front of 2 large fully loaded dump trucks that were headed in the direction I was going. It was a misty cold morning, and the tires responded like hockey pucks on ice - I did a 180 and was facing the oncoming dump trucks - on a 2 lane, winding paved road. I had just a whisper of time and fortune to floor it into a side lot and out of harms way. Could have been a nasty one, but all of those DE's through the Porsche Club paid off - kept my cool and avoided disaster. I'm sure I was the conversation that morning by the cars following the dump trucks and the cars in the other oncoming lane

Holy Moly Ed, that would not have been a fine way to start the winter! I know what you mean ... that rubber compound is nice and sticky in the summer but turns into puck material near freezing. I got caught in a spring storm in the Sierras with those tires and wasnt sure how that was going to turn out. Glad you kept your wits and got out of the way! So happy to hear you still like the car ... I still love your color combo, particularly without the BS moldings. BTW, my son has an 85 Auto and we put the Porken chipset in, and I really like the improved mid range power and smoothness. I thought you might like it too.

This white car was quite a lucky find and it really looks good in white, much better live than in the pics (but Im sure a pro photographer would make the pics pop), and yes the pin stripe looks great on the car. I have stumbled across 3 nice 86.5 5 speeds in the past 12 months, just silly luck. All 3 came from people who had their personal situation change, and I was able to put them in the hands of enthusiasts. I keep thinking about keeping one of these and this one is the nicest of the 3, but I just cant part with my black 91 S4 DD and my platinum 83 5-speed that looks like it came off the showroom. If I came across a blue early car like yours, I would have to give something up!

Love the color, but the seller seems not to know or not telling about what water pump and fuel lines were used when replaced. Or even when were they replaced. If original paint, worth a look. Anyone in LA able to take a look?
