I like the interior and of course, love the white S4 sample, but later body styles are not getting much love except for GTS, GT, manuals, or concours level cars (ask me how I know).

No BaT for this one? Seems like yours are doing well on there.
I have only been bringing the coolest and rarest cars to BaT, like the 86.5 5-speed, but after seeing the black over burgundy s4 that sold on BaT yesterday, I may rethink it. I would never buy, let alone sell something like that ... Nor did I think BaT would even accept a car with such obvious and shoddy cosmetic cover ups.
I don't see any evidence of trying to cover up and being dishonest with sales on BAT (I'm sure it happens, cannot catch everything).
The flaws of that black car were very obvious. Stevie Wonder would have been able to see the condition before bidding on it.
A wise man once said, there is a market for everything you just have to find it. BAT does a good job of covering a wide range of markets. As long as they do a good job of making sure such cosmetic issues are shown, I don't see where the problem is.

Hey! My '84 is identical in color combo to your '83 and I think it's pretty cool. Haha! But I know what you mean. Not exactly the rarest of cars or the most exotic of colors. Great looking car though. I'm jealous of your non warped and cracked dash. If it doesn't sell you should think of putting it up on BaT. The black interior cars have done very well there.

This isn't Saturday Night at Barrett Jackson.
You are correct, of course ... for some reason I developed that impression because I assumed that BaT's screening process would be selective in that way. But I do agree that part of the fun is the wide range of cars offered on BaT. In my limited experience with selling cars on BaT, I have also been very happy dealing with them - reasonable reserves, good writing, thorough (I have only worked with Ryan to develop the ads).

Hey Nate - yours does look like the twin sister of this one. It is an awesome color combo IMHO ... I really like the Pewter color too. My son has a silver over black 85 (also with a perfect dash) and the Pewter is so much warmer in color. The car is also a gem to drive - I really like the snappy 2 cam motor with the automatic ... very responsive. I think I will put it on BaT if it doesn't sell quickly on eBay.

Yep identical even down to the platinum manholes. Agree the Pewter is a nice color but also one that is very hard to capture in photos. GLWTS!
Always thought it to be a good idea to hire a pro photographer for great still pics car your listing. They would have the right filter's for most light conditions and could really make the car pop. $$ would come back + more at bidding time.02 T

Most larger metro areas will have someone that specializes in automotive photography. It really can make a big difference. Runs 250 to 500 dollars in my experience. Pays off on high dollar cars

Even in our little town (pop 10,xxx) there are several photographers to choose from. I was quoted $ 200 a few years ago. T
85 5spd/Garnet Red. Contacted seller regarding absentee rear spoiler and responded it will be included in the sale. Guessing the small holes just below rear qtr windows that hold the spoiler must have been filled/painted ? Seller also stated he has owned for only six months so I'm thinking he really doesn't know it's history. Interior shows well and if that indeed is the original paint, this car spent much of it's life indoors and that's always a good thing. T http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Porsche...m=152337595958
Saw the garnet red manual today too and priced right if the paint is as nice as it looks on pics. However, I have other things to concentrate on and refocus on my primary objective. Consolidate my 928s....

Something smells funny about this one....Yep, there's definitely a crack in the upholstery.
