reading between the lines, i think it has more far more needs than the 'great condition' assessment.
928s aren't not cars to be overly optimistic about. the fact that it's a '78, 5 speed is a big plus and i'm still leery.

I never actively bid on eBay, it just encourages competitive bidding that lasts for days and drives up the price. If you really want something place your highest bid through eSnipe, your bid won’t hit the auction until 6 seconds before it ends, way too late for anyone to counter it. Hope you follow. Hopefully eSnipe will link to BAT.

Still 6 days left. It'll be way north of $20K if it sells, IMO.

It won't. The bid clock at BaT resets back to 2 minutes on each bid that comes in under the 2 minute mark. It prevents sniping, which in my option ruined eBay auctions for most people. I only ever purchase Buy It Now items over there these days.

+2 The way a real auction is conducted. A chance to face off against a real bidder(s) until the highest bid remains.
Too many Ebay auctions are "sniped" by the seller at their own secret reserve price, so it turns out that it wasn't really a no-reserve auction to begin with. If I ever bid on Ebay, I just set my comfort price auto-bid and walk away. If it is exceeded or gets sniped, so be it.

correct. my bid was in jest - as far as hoping i'd stay high bidder. the early bids are just place holders. they mean nothing in the end. BaT's system works well for a fair auction.

So are you seriously going to go after this one? If you are looking for a good car, this one does seem to fit the bill.

to a point, yes. prussian blue is not a color i'm thrilled about from porsche, but i do like cars with the same exterior/interior combo - makes them somewhat unique. i'm not going to overpay just because of the history with Musto and/or having been on videos and such - which i have now watched. i didn't even recognize Musto at first with the beard. seems like a very nice example which has had most/maybe all of the necessary needs addressed. serious enough?

Well, if I had the slightest serious interest, that would be the tipping point for an excuse to take a nice weekend to Monterey/Laguna Seca for what should be a pretty good collections of cars! Oh, the high in DFW will be 100 degrees...there is 69!
From the BAT ad:
"This car will be available for viewing during the BaT Alumni Gathering at Laguna Secaon Saturday, August 17th. Please come visit our tent to see this car, meet BaT staff, and hang out with the owners of more than 80 cars that were bought on the website. We hope to see you there!"

i've been trying to plan the monterey trip for the past 3 years. a very busy work schedule and a daughter that starts school this past monday all get in the way. work enables the toys - simple as that.
i would love the opportunity to look it over in monterey, but it's not going to happen.

damn!! what a shame about the condition. that color combo is extremely nice - tahoe is a great blue and the light gray and blue interior matches it beautifully.
i don't want an auto, but that could have been such a great looking car! 139k miles shouldn't dictate that condition.
