Default 22k miles 1989 S4 auto

Hi fellas,

I have an investment opportunity that I don't think I can pass up. So I am offering the car to you before putting it up on BaT (nicer than the 2 previous closest comparable sales there).
IMHO: it is nicer than those 2 comps and here will be without 5% buyers fee!

https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1101039

2 recent BaT comps:

-https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-porsche-928-s4-15/

thanks!
Hoi

Hoi, is this the one I saw several months back where the carpets looked brand new? I guess that would have been before any detailing...

Yes, I told the detailer, whom I trust completely with all my cars needing detailing, to "make it nice for a collectible or sale", and the next thing I know, he paint corrected it (not that I think it needed it) and covered it with CQuartz, followed by interior/engine detailing. It is simply amazing. I had the same thing done for my Weissach and it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Spray wash and drive it to dry it.

Being a Japanese import shouldn't it have the additional fender flairs? It would appear some body work behind the rear wheels where the flairs would attach. I would suspect a full respray and the interior was completely redone and it would appear to be a brighter color than the original. I would assume that is why the stickers on the door arm rest aren't there as well. Not sure why they didn't mention that?? Or just omit this picture.

Interesting one on Ebay. 86.5 928S, 3k buy it now, how could one go wrong?

(Yes, I know. But it's blue, and it's an 86, nice year).

Not to complain, but 80k miles is a bit low and the pre-87 928's had smaller tubes, less power, and didn't seem to blow up quite as much. But yeah, new engine that can be funded by selling those nice air intake tubes... Mmmmmmm........

Actually, I’m wrong. It’s a pre-87 so thrust bearing failure isn’t a serious concern. So, for $3k, can’t go wrong as long as the timing belt is still on and hasn’t skipped more than a few teeth :O

Dave - please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the shaft migration became an issue for the 85MY forward, since after 84, Porsche stopped using the circlip at the engine end of the shaft (per the WSM)?
