I think you have most of the steps down. I've watched a couple YouTube videos on the process... not rocket science. Worst case I screw up an old used watch.
Same with me, pretty much on the car.

I have taken out movements of a watch. Removing the hands is what concerns me about doing it. I would think you would need a special tool for this so that you wouldn't bend them up? I'll have to check out YouTube.

You're right though, Not rocket science, brain surgery or 928 engine repair...

The toughest part is the hands: they're delicate, and you have to make sure they're at TDC when you put them on (i.e.: At 12:00:00 when the date flips.). There's a tool called a handsetter you need.

I'm going to try to get a sale page set up and have it ready to go on Monday.

No, you didn't miss anything: I missed my goal.

It turns out that you can't just snap your fingers and buy 50+ watches. I'm in the process of finding a vendor that can handle a bulk order.

Further updates as events warrant!

Shawn - In all fairness, you didn't specify on which Monday you were going to put up the sales page. So, you needn't have admitted to missing your goal.

I'm negotiating for a bulk purchase of the base watches. It's surprisingly hard to find someone to sell you 50+ watches!

Shawn,
Is it possible to start selling just dials for those of us who already has a watch? or do you want to keep all sales toghether.

I agree, I want the watch style I chose and have no problem finding someone to install it for me. Money in hand...

Okay, fair question.

I was unable to find a source that could reliably give me a bulk purchase of Seiko watches at the price point we discussed at the beginning of this project (the $65 dollar range). The lowest price I could find was around $100. The bulk seller I contacted said they were forbidden from going any lower by their agreement with Seiko.

I attempted to contact the Amazon seller and ask about a bulk purchase, but they never replied. The Amazon seller limits purchases to 3 per order. My concern is that I'll get a bunch of orders and, when I try to buy 50+ watches 3 at a time from this Amazon seller, there will be a problem and the whole deal will fall through.

I'm kind of at an impasse. I can't get any assurance that the $65 price will hold, and I don't want to be the a$$h@le who start taking folk's money then suddenly jumped the price by $40.

Thoughts..?

Give us an update of the total price with the higher cost of watches and the cost of the options available and see if everyone is still interested in a finished watch. I'm sure most will understand the availability issues for so many watches at once.

And I hope that everyone understand that with the limits per purchase on those Amazon watches that means they have a limited inventory and would have a problem filling a whole bunch of orders at once also.

I know personally at an additional $40 in cost im still in, as I'd venture to guess most of the hive will be as well.

You have put a ton of leg work in on this, lets not allow it to die now.

Thank You Shawn your efforts are greatly appreciated.
