If you are going to be building a page to house the paypal info anyway, you might look into affiliate marketing for the links you are sending to Amazon. You get a little piece of each transaction and it wouldn't cost us anything extra. Might help defray more of your costs.

Good idea! The Amazon referral rate is 4%, so I'd be looking at a few dollars per watch. Of course, I'd have to manually build the list of watches onto my storefront, and I don't feel like doing that. I think I calculated the costs well enough that I won't take a hit.

I'm finishing up the storefront tonight. I'll try to get it pushed out in a 'demo' mode so that folks can see if it makes sense.

Then, I'll need one brave soul to be a guinea pig and order the first watch so I can make sure it works end-to-end.

If the test works well, I'll open it up on Saturday morning (spread the word at SITM!) and the sale will run for two weeks.

Perhaps consider starting a new thread at that time.

Shawn,
I can volunteer and be the guinea pig, if you need one.

Great news!

+1 on starting a new thread with only the info we need to buy.

Thanks again.

Shawn - My understanding is that you wouldn't need to build a list of watches onto your storefront. Instead, all you need is a link to Amazon. When people click through to Amazon, whatever they buy on that visit qualifies for the affiliate commission.

Ya' know guys, I for one intend to add $10 to the total just as a thanks for doing this. If Shawn wants to spend it all on alcohol at the Frenzy, more power to him. It's his to use as he wishes, hookers and blow or the passing plate at his church. I don't think $10 is going to hurt any one of us and if he raised his price by $10 I doubt it would stop anyone from buying his service/watch face. I know that if I met him face to face I would buy him a drink or two and it would probably end up being more than $10!

Shawn,
Will you also put up the alternative to only order a dial?

Yes. There will be three options/prices: Dial + Assembly: Domestic shipping, Dial + Assembly: Int'l shipping, Dial only: All shipping. There is only one price for the dial because shipping a watch requires a box, dials can be mailed in an envelope.

I did hit a snag in that the internet is out at my house since yesterday. It should be back online this afternoon.

Okay, Bilal tried an order and hit an easy snag (I forgot to list my shipping address for the delivery of the watch from Amazon).

I've made an update to the site, but Bilal is at SITM, so it's a little difficult for him to test this for me. Does anyone else (in the U.S.) want to give it a shot?
