How about another run of watches..?

Shawn,
Would the Seiko SNKE 53 watch be OK as well as the SNKE 51? I see the 53 has white luminescent hands, and a red second hand - makes it even a bit simpler perhaps for the #9 option that has been selected.

I respect that many like option one, Design 9 so to speak. However, I think Gary brings up a good point. Looking at the 'first bank out of the box' and it's derivatives, somewhere in the process the original hands from the SNKE51 have never been shown. The e51 sports a silver second hand.
The model Gary reference (SNKE53) has a red second hand, but with black day/date background color. All minor details, but maybe something that should be addressed so those signing up for a complete watch have a better idea what to expect if they don't choose custom red hands... or a custom case.
And Ketchmi, I think that the SNKM79K1 all blacked out will look awesome!

There's no wrong answer at this point. If everyone wants to switch to the SNKE53, we can do that easily enough. There was some discussion about white-on-black day/date wheels a few pages ago. The SNKE53 is $10 more than the SNKE51, though.

We'll have the option to get a completed watch AND some spare dials too yes?

That's the plan. I'll ask the mods for a sticky.

So I like #9, but from what I think you're saying, in order to get a watch with red hour and minute hands, red second hand, and red date, I'd have to get something like the SNKL45, plus the red hands. Is that correct? And if I wanted the DAGAZ 004 red (instead of 006 red), I'd have to buy them and ship it to you.
SNKL45:
DAGAZ 004: http://www.10watches.com/apps/websto...cts/show/50673
(for 3)
So that would be $70.00 + $90.00 + ($15.00 + mailing to you)? Or would you consider getting the 004 red instead of the 006 red as part of the deal?

Personally, I only want to deal with buying a single type of hands. I don't care what type those are, just as long as it's one type. The group seemed set on the 006 red, so that's what I went with. If a subgroup wants to get together and purchase other sets, that's fine - and it's cheap and easy enough to do. I just need to know what's coming and who gets it, so I can keep a correct and updated build list.

It looks like both 006 & 004 are out of stock at the website listed. Is there a mock up picture of the proposed dial with the stock hands of SNKL45? Maybe I would go with that. But would love to see a picture of that setup.

Interesting. The white text of the SNKE53 at 3 o'clock might look nicely balanced across from the white text of 928 at the9 o'clock position. I like that look for an extra $10, but I'm fine with however you decide to go at this point. Pretty much all of the designs have beenn very good.

I think the SNKE53 looks good, too.

The second hand is different between the 51 and the 53 also…
The original dials have a printed line detail around the day/date window in the face. I do not have dimensions to be able to accurately add that sort of detail to the custom face.

Thanks for putting it side-by-side. It almost looks like the "weight" of the extra white material in the SNKE51 background balances the "928" bettern than the white text of the 53, but the black text background of the 53 looks a little dressier.
The 45 Bilal linked to looks good as well. I probably have a slight preference towards the 45 or 53 BUT...I think I'm really starting to split hairs on this one, as the differences with each subsequent fine tuning get's more subtle.
Whatever you go with is good with me. I'm just looking forward to a late Christmas present.
