Replaced steering line and cleaned up all the parts around the steering pump. Hope it will kill all the leaks and begin to run fine.
Replaced left steering ball joint that did not resist to one day track.

Three Wheelin'
R&R of steering rack. Not that hard but took longer than anticipated; most time spent one single items were the loosening and then tightening of the replaced hose from the reservoir (new reservoir) and my stupid mistake... Got new one all bolted up and holy crap, REALLY? completely spaced on connected steering u-joint! Oh well...
PO had it replaced in 2008 but looks like the shop they had do it rebuilt it themselves based on the documents. I went rebuilt from Roger...

finally completed my fabricated 'cat back' exhaust. ~$200.
first step was to repl the pumkin with a brand X muffler. cut the heat shield off the pumpkin and attached to the new muffler. sound much improved but too loud. then cut in a 4" magnaflow to repl the resonator.
now sound is mellow and great, and not too loud.

Fired 'er up & went for a spin. Thoroughly enjoyed newly refurbed & working sunroof, windows, and a closed heater valve! Amazing how the fun the thing is to drive when its not 110 degrees in the cockpit.

Removed and cleaned contacts on the hatch release mechanism. No more continued cycling after pulling the ****.

Fought with two 2721 mini-bulbs that didn't want to come out of pod switches. Won in the end.

In this case millimeters might have been more accurate.

Viagra 928S4 Automatic Transmission
Adjusted transmission per the WallyLama recommendations and I think I'm driving a Viagra 928S4. The only adjustment needed was the Transmission cable as the others checked out per WallyP's recommendations.
I may be doing some de-teweakage once I get a handle on the new shift points in the future but what a difference from not shifting from 2nd at 2200rpm into 3rd and 2400rpm into 4th. It was nearly impossible to trick her into first. I know, I know, I should have dealt with this earlier but I had more pressing mechanical things to tend to.
Anyways, life is better tonight...

MM and OPG and AC refill
Just got car back ( Autosport Engineering in Stow, MA) after new MM install (Volvo mounts) and silicon OPG. Also had AC looked at (had system switched over to R134 3 years ago and wasn't cooling this year). Found relay in HVAC control switch in dash shot. Will pull control switch and do Radio Shack Relay replacement.
Car runs very smooth with new MM , old ones were original as was OPG with 93K on the odometer.
Also had brake fluid flushed and refilled, coolant checked.
All else checked out ok and ready for another season.

I broke the s.O.B! Worked all day cleaning and washing for a local cruise night and the air pump seized and shredded the belt. So back to the house and will be doing an air pump delete fri. Guess I take the VW daily driver to the cruise, damn.
