Had Kyle over to do some work on his car. Started at 8:30am=====Finished at 9:30pm. What did we do in that time?
Motor mounts
Oil Pan gasket
oil pan stud kit
all power steering lines
derlin steering rack bushings
power steering reservoir
Why did it take so long do you ask?
Lots o oil to clean up before we could begin the oil pan work.
Had a hell of a time putting just one nut on the stud kit upon reassembly, took 30 min to get the one nut started (behind oil level sensor on pan).
Had to remove alternator to get to PS pump to unhook lines.
The derlin rack bushings take quite a while to do even with air chisel.
Spent 30 min fighting lower radiator hose to put alternator on the car. Finally tied radiator hose to the crank pulley to get it out of the way.
Lost a washer for lower control arm bolt and had to search for 40 min to no avail. then had to go to store and get two stainless washers to make up the thickness.
ate lunch in there somewhere.
All in all a pretty productive day.

Ummm... that sounds like a week's worth of work for me. Bravo!
Yesterday, I cleaned the driver's side window transmission and swapped window motors. Today, will investigate why my HVAC setting motor doesn't seem to be working.
Drove her 390 miles, back from Precision Motorwerks to home. She didn't miss a beat. I just wish that California had decent roads ..
I had lots done, including new brakes all 'round, brake fluid flush, oil and filter change, Porsche coolant flush, all fuel lines, fuel pumps and filter, transmission service (fluid, filter, adjusted shift), PSD flush, differential oil and new rear wheel well liners.
Greg, Mary and Grant are great - friendly, accommodating and just genuinely nice people who love these cars. I'm almost disappointed that I shouldn't need to go back for a few years.
She's now set for 3-4 years with only fluid changes, until the TB change is due.
I did call all the ones listed here, no one had "In Stock" the radiator for me as my car was in the shop, I would have had to wait a couple weeks or more...the mechanic really did not want her sitting there that long and nor did I.
I kinda had no choice...again called Roger, had other PM me but no one had a radiator 3 weeks ago aftermarket...believe me I wish I could save that $2400.00...well I tell myself at least I should not have issues with a brand new factory one... (more to make myself happy)

Finished passenger side aero mirror install, really not a fan of the little black gasket that goes on between base and car
Got the Driver assembled and on the car ( again that black gasket took the most time) and now need to get the wiring complete. Bought a crimping tool and makes putting the contacts on the wires very easy. Should be done tonight
Driver side Aero Mirror all wired and working, buttoned up just in time to head out to German Night at Stow Minuteman Airport for Wings and Wheels. German night and the regional PCA is trying to get a bunch of us there.
Spoiler painted and on, aero mirrors painted and on, now only have Carrera IIIs to swap over and ready for Frenzy!
Drained the ATF from the pan and torque converter, and removed and cleaned the reservoir. Letting pan and TC drip dry over night. Tomorrow I'll install the PKlamp and remove the trans pan, gasket and filter. Expect to spend some time cleaning the pan. Will check the pan for flatness...fingers crossed.
Went to assemble and install new fuel system components after dropping the fuel tank to replace all the old lines and bad fuel pump only to discover I'm still missing one tiny part. Decided to delay that project until I have the last part in hand and instead worked on preparing the car for rear bumper for removal.
The tail light lenses from the parts car (future race car) are in much better shape than mine, so I'll be swapping them over this weekend.
Finally got the interior back in the car after my mysterious half gallon water dump from the AC drain which required me to see if the heater core had sprung a leak, it hadn't .
So I put all of the interior back together after running wires for the custom installed sound system and some wires for a rear cigarette lighter.
I also converted to a 84+ AC recirculation housing that I put a new valve in so I wont have to worry about that leaking vacuum or water leaking on the CE panel for years
On the bright side, after doing all of this my AC has never been colder
I then drove 100 miles round trip to downtown LA to meet my dad and his friend for dinner and averaged 20 mpg. Not bad for a 3 speed in rush hour traffic.
I cleaned the transmission cases on my 1984 928S. Then when I got home from work I measured the clutch disks from the automatic transmission I am repairing.
