Tony, thanks for the rear hatch fix photo. I think I read about that fix a while back but it didn't come with photos. I'm ordering an insert and hoping that will do the trick for mine. If not, I'm moving on to zip-ties. Does anyone have a fix for the hairline crack that is common for the male part of the latch on the hatch itself? Mine has a hairline crack I would like to address before it gets worse.

After a week in the shop for a lot of overdue maintenance (like years behind) I went on a 500 mile road trip from the DFW area to Fredricksburg, TX for some good German food and beer. Car was perfect, but this poor 90 year old guy was trying to park next to me on main street and stomped the wrong pedal.
Luckily all he killed was plate glass and a few christmas ornaments but be barely missed a super cute girl in a minskirt. That would have been tragic.
I think I felt the 928 perk up when it found out we were going to get schnitzel.

Ordered new Exhaust Hangers for my 79. Lost one during the 3rd Coast Event a couple weeks back.
Thanks again Simon for the safety wire that got me home.

Pulled the siezed motor out of my latest project car today and started prepping the replacement motor to go in tomorrow. The car is a black 79 that was originally petrol blue with cork interior. It is a California car its very clean underneath, I don't think its ever seen snow. The paint is a cheap black spray not well done it has some rust around the rear windows. The interior has had a bad black dye job, paint job cover up but the seats have been freshly recovered. My goal is to get the car mobile for the winter then bring it back to the original petrol blue with cork interior.

Loaded my 5yo and 7yo daughters and my wife into the 928, secured the pies under the cargo net, and headed off to Southern NH for the turkey feast. These cars do make nice family haulers. Grins on everyone's faces.
Happy Thanksgiving all...

Removed the after market "wired in" 1990's radar detector, had to take out the driver fender liner to get to grommets where they put wire thru into the dash. While in there took the liner and finished cleaning the drivers wheel well and suspension.
Also had issue when I put in the relay to have daylight running lights work. When lights on they would not retract when light switch turned, but would go down when car shut off??? Took out relay out of III spot ini CE and lights work all right now.
Also had dash lights go off when lights were on, played with dimmer and all right now.
Almost ready to put her away for the winter, hopefully will get a couple more days to be able to drive it.

Mid 80's today so ran my my weekend errands. AC plenty cool. Drives great even with a few hundred lbs of softener salt in the boot. Drove past the Rose Bowl traffic - Stanford visiting UCLA this afternoon. Go Bruins!
