Here is what I did,
- Cleaned the engine some more.
- Ripped out more carpet. 2/3 of the interior is now out.
- Pulled the driver fender out. No more door rub.
- Pulled off the S4 molding on the driver side front fender.
- Got the stupid head unit out.
- Ordered more parts.
- Installed the RMB from 928 International and forgot to install a seal ring.
- Replaced the front driver side turn signal lens.
Found a juvinile male black widow. It is dead now.

The car started rolling down the driveway while I opened the second half of the iron gate... I had to run and jump in to stop it in time before it would hit anything else. Well, it was not dent free anyway. Now and extra dent in the left fender at the rub strip...

Took advantage of having the exhaust out and separated the joints immediately aft of the cats. Inserted a borrowed tail pipe expander and stretched the pipes a little. I hope that when I put it back in the car tomorrow my exhaust leak at that connection is cured.

Got the passenger seat out, a stripped bolt held me up.
Now to clean all the adhesive goop on the floors before installing my new Classic 9 Leather Shop carpet kit. Looks like the original carpet may have been black. Not sure why it was changed if it was but there is no reason to find fuzzy black carpet bits under the pearl unless it was replaced. The crazy thing is that it was such a bad install what is the point?
This '89 is really messed up. Glad that it didn't go to a wrecker.
I'll get it fixed in time.

After I decided to open up my headlight housing and saw the assembly bucket literally crumble, I ordered 2 from Ebay, $99.95 each, Part # 928 631 113 01, both brand new and free shipping from 12 miles from me.
Also, ordered 2 MK4 Volkswagen dome lamps upgrade to replace the dangling wires.
And a used 3rd brake light...for peace of mind after the Saturday night wheel lock on braking due to some idiot's inattentiveness.

Sandblasted my intake, and cross brace. Next step is to apply adhesion promoter and good high fill primer. I will go with wet paint as opposed to powder. Probably a silver metallic with a couple of clear coats for a deep gloss.
