Try to fix gauge needle jumping when turning lights and blinkers on. Traced possible problems with multimeter for hours and cleaned connections in printed circuit board.

Done Pod in&out many times before, for some reason today putting it back was PITA.

Maybe I managed to fix voltmeter from dropping when adding electricity consumption, fuel gauge still jumping up when turning lights on

It makes me pissed off when something is not working as it supposed to. Like this instrument cluster..

Worked with SeanR on swapping out alternator, buttoning up front spoiler, replacing cooling tube to alternator (PO did not have it on before) tested and replaced A/C head unit with loaner from Dr. Ratts. Rebuilt unit on order form 928sRus.
Thanks Sean for letting my tag along and learn.

Changed the oil and and tried to fix the ABS light that comes on after moving a few feet.

The front, passenger side wheel speed sensor had a broken brown wire and an almost broken black wire. I soldered two new wires onto the sensor. The black wire only had about 1/8 inch protruding from the sensor body, so it's all I had to work with when soldering new wire to it.

Took it for a test drive. No ABS light. I was happy. After 3 miles, I hit a bump and it came on.

I shut the car off to reset the system. The light didn't come on again, but I have a feeling I haven't seen the last of the ABS light.

Now I'm drinking.

Installed knock sensor, oil fill plate, and intake rubber standoffs on my track car.

Gasket matched ground the heads (a little) and intake (a lot). Prolly won't gain much, if any, HP, but it sure looks nice.

Used a vacuum while grinding. On the runners, a 2" big shopvac hose fits right on the hose end. I had a -big- pile of magnesium in there when I was done with those.

+1
Pulled the 81 out of the garage, washed it and drove it for the 1st time in 2 long years! The used trans that I took a chance on (great price) shifts like a new one.

Jacked the car up as high as possible to identify a bad knocking sound coming from the front.
Took out the rt TB cover and peeked at the tensioner while running the engine. Wasn't that. Then I took the belts off one at a time . Noice disappeared when the tension was removed from the alt belt. It returned when I retentioned it.Phew!!! So I found the smoking gun and need an alt rebuild. Bearings shot.

My plan for today - Put the 928 in backwards into the garage, disconnect battery. I will need the afternoon sun to work on her over the next few weeks. Tear into the car - plenum - AFM and fix v-leaks, HCV, coolant bottle and ?????? whatever else I find that looks old and decrepit that I already didn't replace or fix.

I did have my buddies Man Cave with lifts and his expertise, tools, etc. in all things related to cars but he is very Ill. I am on my own now. Feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment and worried about my friend.

Default Delrin Steering Rack Bushings

Just replaced my worn out steering rack bushings with delrin bushings from Roger. Why oh why did I not do this when I was doing my motor mounts? Anyway, did it with rack in car, on jackstands, in my garage. About 4 hours cover to cover, not too bad. Although I'm sick of being on my back under this car. My kingdom for a lift!

Today, I installed one of Ed S's new and innovative water pumps, along with one of ROG's new Gates Racing T Belts, Used PorKen's tool to reset cam timing, 9201 tool comparison with Kempf tool to set belt tension. Now it's time to rest until tomorrow.
