Completed redye of interior. Much improved. The crack filler did a nice job filling in the worst spots. It was fricking hot as heck and I sweated all over the seats re-installing and the color/finish held up 100%. Not a hard job just very time consuming. Have a few touch up spots to take care of but the humidity is too high. The $175 for the prep and dye allows me to get a few more years out of the seats until I get them recovered.

Default Lighting

Fixed a few electrical gremlins today, and patched in the VW interior lights along with the high power SuperBright LED's. Much improved interior lighting. Jeff (jeffanddeb) was there to help out. NC-what an improvement on those seats. 77Tony

Default great 200 mile drive and antique car and airplane show

Took 100 mile drive up Route 1 in Maine to Owls Head Museum for Antique Car and plane show. About 100 cars all pre 1991, and great planes and air show. Had a Corsair, P40 and Japanese Zero. Had the Zero and Corsair over the airfield for about 20 minutes chasing each other and taking low passes above the runway. Great weather and show, and ride back home. Car ran flawlessly. With new motor mounts, was smooth as silk.

I guess I should try to sort out my non-functional AC. It hasn't worked since I bought the car April 2010.

it may be as simple as needing a charge, but of course that means there's a leak somewhere.

Installed the pod back in a car for local trim shop. They put a full dash/pod cover on at customer's request. This screwed the clearance up between pod & dash. They had to do major Dremel work to even get the switch ***** on and the ingnition switch is now recessed. I would live with the Grand Canyon of cracks on my dash/pod before I put one of these things on.
It's hot enough to give Algore a woody.

I replaced the fuel screen, fuel line from fuel screen to pump, pump, filter, relay and fuse. I go to start it up and smell fuel really bad. I jumped the fuel pump and went searching for the leak. A rubber fuel line in the front had burst and the fuel was pouring out over the engine. I went to pull the line off and it basically just disintegrated in my hand. Be replacing that and any others I can find later today.

Replaced the antenna cable with a new used one I picked up a while back. I now have FM tunes, but no AM (who cares) Not sure if the amp in the antenna is working or not but don't really care as I only listen to two or three local stations anyway, they are all close and the reception is just fine. Next on the list is to replace the alternator. The current unit charges OK at speed but output drops significantly as it heats up and the revs drop. Replacing the regulator was no help.
