Why don't you use the rear bumper cover off of the car in your avatar? T

Default We have color!

Went to the shop today to pick out the pearl that goes into the paint and took some pictures of the progress. Finally get to look at something other than a lime green epoxy coat...and it feels good The pearl effect I decided to go with is actually two different pearls; a blue pearl and a silver pearl.

I ended up ordering a new rear GTS bumper cover, and learned something new today about a change in material between the S4 bumper covers and the newer GTS covers. The older S4 bumper covers are made in a thick, heavy rubber/urethane material, whereas the newer GTS style bumper covers are made from a much thinner and lighter urethane as found in more "modern" cars. I am not sure the change-over happened with the GTS model or if it is a later change, as this is a brand new one from Germany. In either case, the bumper cover came without bumperette cutouts and I had the rear tow hook hole modified (filled in the picture) to hold a rear view camera flush mounted.

Here are some pictures of today's visit.

Cheers!
Carl

Thanks to all for all the positive input and comments! It's an awesome feeling to finally see some color (or absence of color) on the shell. Makes me think there is actually an end to this madness

Sure hope to make it there Tony!

Cheers!

Carl,
You are an inspiration to myself and obviously many others. I do little repair and maintenance jobs. You create cars better than new. You should be very proud, and I am sure you are. I await your next pictures.
Good luck,
Dave

Default Base coat

Here's a picture from the other day, first coat of the base is being put on. Clear coats still to go (should be on by now), but don't have any pictures yet.

Cheers!
Carl
