My intention is to leave @ Noon-1'ish. I really have no desire to play in rush hour traffic on the 57.

Well - I just booked rooms for Thursday through Sunday.

I'll be bringing my 16 & 13 year old sons along too...

My 16 year old has been wanting to come to Sharktoberfest for the last 3 years (but I didnt even make it the last 2 times...)

I'm planning to take them to Disneyland on Friday - what else are folks planning to do on Friday - other than the evening gathering @ 7pm? (I could always drive out on Wednesday instead...)

I Googled the Phone Number and found this:

Anyone familiar with the ASAP Project in Malibu?

Alan, I was planning to drive down Wednesday. I had plans for Thursday but not anymore, was thinking of just kicking around and doing some photography. Friday I'll probably hang around at Int'l and keep Kibort's axe sharp for him.

All of this is assuming I get my brakes finished this coming weekend, and subject to change. I doubt that anything will happen to prevent me from going at all, but I could be delayed. I really want to go, but not with the brakes that are on the car.

Dave, were you the one last year who was hooking up a radiator accessory fan to run after motor shutdown on your '78? Did it work out?

That went on the back burner in favor of higher-priority work. I just open the hood when I pull into the garage. I got stuck on deciding where to put the temp sensor. Hopefully I can get to that this fall. My engine harness is getting pretty brittle, I want to decide where to put the temp sensor then ask Carl to add the necessary wires to one of his replacement harnesses. I have a basic circuit design that Alan helped me with, essentially a starting point.

They are just old. I bought S4 calipers back in 2005, and decided to wear out my original rotors before making the change. That was 40K miles ago, BTW. They were fine, during very aggressive street driving or funrides I just had to manage the heat. I started getting a scraping noise a few weeks ago on hard turns that turned out to be the ridges on the rotors contacting the calipers -- apparently that's just the way it works out when you have rotors at minimum thickness and pads ~1/2 worn on the early brakes.

I could slap rotors and pads on it and they would probably be good for another 50K plus, but that would negate the whole point of using up the rotors I have... after all, nobody wants to buy used OB rotors so this was my way of getting full value out of them.

So now it's time to get it done; I don't want to run a 1,000 mile SFest weekend on what I have, so I want to take care of it.

BTW Alan, don't plan anything around me, I may be delayed for other reasons, I may not know for sure until next week.
