And +1 on the flaps, our GT started running hotter than normal as we got into San Diego after the fun drive yesterday- just above the second white line and wouldn't come down. I had visions of water pump problems but it turned out that the flaps were closed. The actuator rod had detached from the motor crank-arm-- motor was open, flaps were closed...
Cheers, Jim

My wife and I drove down to SF on Saturday, just for the day, and had a GREAT time. Tremendous meeting some new faces as well as visiting with many familiar faces too! Lot's of great 928s to look at and learn about. A big THANKS to Mark and the gang that put in all the hard work to pull another successful SF together! THANKS Mark!!

A great event, as always. Turnout was a bit light but it was great to see everyone that was there.
Here are a few pics, I'll post more as I get them up on my site. I also have video from the fundrive, that will take a bit longer to pull together/edit.

Looking forward to seeing some of your video Dave. That camera mount was awesome. Have you ever posted any photos of that rig on RL? You should. It looks like an ideal setup.

Thanks Mike. I have a video with details, also another vid with the SITP fundrive condensed down to ~5 minutes here. I have that fundrive all cut up into youtube-sized segments, titles done etc., I just haven't found time to add a soundtrack to the individual vids yet. Never enough time in the day...

Question for Louie (or anyone who already asked him about this)...
On the GT Monster engine - what's the new plumbing & nozzles above the throttle bodies...?
Water injection system....?

Well its certainly not the regular gasoline fuel rails - Methanol/Alcohol makes sense (rocket fuel... not so much...??)
I was imaging perhaps secondary water injection cooling (almost makes it into a kind of steam engine...)
Thanks! I was some work to get it tidied up - just 2 days before one rear seat was out, both amps were out and the filter box was off the engine....
Lots of machine waxing and reinstallation - mostly on Thusday morning before I set off for Diamond Bar...

Thanks! That's Rush, Yyz. The sync was 100% coincidence. Once I saw the condensed video I felt the tempo of that song would be perfect, and I condensed the video to fit the audio.
It's not just Methanol/Alcohol. It's in that general family, but the two chemicals he mentioned are each a mouthful and I don't remember what exactly he said. IIRC there was a methyl-something, maybe a nitro-something, and a something-propanol in there somewhere. I asked him why he didn't go straight to hydrazine and he said he had thought about it...

Hydrazine is extremely hazardous when heated. Probably not something you'd want to have in the car if there's an even moderately effective substitute.
FWIW.
