I'd love to have it, but I just don't have room or time for it! Good luck with the sale, and please, for your sake, take about 400 pictures, pick the best 100, then narrow it down to 20, and post them here. Engine, tires, wheels, steering wheel, dash, seat, rear deck, and rubber and leather that is prone to cracking should be shone in detail.

Looks like you've got a prime piece of metal there, and I hope you get what it's worth!

Isn't this the same '89 S4 that you sold a month ago? What happened on that deal?

I have a buddy who is looking to get back in to 928's after a 10 year drought and he likes gray to boot. It would be a great car for him, but he has already had his frustrations with 928's and needs one that is AWESOME and not in need of $5k or $10k or whatever worth of work. As you noted Jim we have no idea what we are looking at with this one.
It's kinda weird to see such statements in $4k car sale thread. Please notify me when there'll be awesome 87+ 928's available for 4k.

IIRC the opening words about where this car was found were penned by Sidehatch, .
Although i thought the Sidehatch car was more of a gray color with burgundy seats and possibly an 87.'
In any event I hope that the car can be redone to quality standards and driven, goodluck with the purchase

There you go! Good on you, man.

Barring the worst, against which there's never any guarantee, at $3800, you can still put a few grand into sorting and improving it without breaking the bank.

Best luck on it being a real gem of a deal! Keep us up-to-date.

Good for you, Mike. Like the man said, please let us all know how this works out. Maybe we can all be a little less skeptical of each other in the future. After that TBF story, you have almost seen it all. So, we look forward to your overview.. Good Luck with it!!

Same sentiments here. Once you've been deep-in like that, the rest is kids play.

when you get there pull the dipstick and drip some oil onto a black piece of cardboard, look for metallic particles, there could also be entrained air , use a bright light or sunlight to inspect the results

Sold.
The new owner will come check it out Monday. He will let you all know what he thinks about the car, I'm sure!
Thanks to everyone who supported this dramatic sale...lol. No hard feelings to anyone who may have put it down, I don't hold grudges! *cheers*
