Well,
54 hours of wheels rolling... countless gallons burned... 3000+ miles revealed a whole different community than I had pictured.

First , I would like to say thanks Roger for being a super hero...and an Inspiration to me...Without you I don't know where I would be.
Also, James Morrison- you are a super hero too... and Det. Shawn is a super hero too!!! Holy cow. It's like a movie.

Sean R and Angela, for making me feel home instantly- from the get-go.

Thanks to Jim M. for his selfless sacrifice...and kind heart. A Champion of kindness and community.

Thanks to Mr. Merlin for helping me to tune my products up, and not harping on me too hard.... Thanks to Bill Ball... You are appreciated... as is everyone else who helped out some. MR. NamasGt -ALI- for being a smooth operator and cool headed partner.

John Curry, for lightening the topics at every turn.

Mr. Ott, though we didn't talk much, your car gives me whole new evil thoughts about the 928 I never had before.... Visionary kinds. Nice to meet you.

Thanks Darien- you're a trooper... Thanks Chuck- HOLY COW!!!!!

TO DAN FROM HAWAII!!!!!!! OMG- You are my long lost brother I swear it!!! Alright you're better looking and maybe smarter but so what!!! Thanks for the grub and liquid motivation.... That turned out to be one hell of a night (PLUSH IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS for the Battle of the Bods Final- nuff said.)

Many humble Thanks to Mr. Mark Anderson for showing me how to remove a clutch without torching my whole shop and walking away from 928's for good!! Further- I'm sorry Mark if I was rude or wrong to you ever... You're super, and I understand why they tend to call you Nucleus. 20 times my experience level is tangible to me, and highly respected... I hope to see you again soon for more exciting chat.

To Jim Bailey, Can I call you uncle Jim Bailey, or would that be out of whack? Such a nice guy, no wonder all the acclaim.

Thanks Jason W for being the real guy I thought you would be- no artificial BS there.

Did I mention that Roger, James, and Det. Shawn are super heros? It's true I swear- ask anyone!

This experience put faces to names. Some surprised me, some didn't...
LOL. I would love attend the third coast if I can... and will surely be at the next OCIC.

How about those Got Milk Girls as Stan called them.... !? Thanks to Lindsay, Razia, and Jana.... They froze their butts off in those skimpy outfits.

Mason, I'm sure you don't remember me but I'll get in touch with you hopefully soon about finding me a 928 up in the NE like the 79' you were telling me that you found. I enjoyed chatting with you and I've got it narrowed down to an 84' I think.
Like I said I'll try to track you down in the near future.

My first OCIC and great to meet people from the west coast I've been talking to for 10 years as well as seeing familiar faces. A special thanks to Brett for letting my copilot and pilot, and to Dr. Bob for taking me to the airport. Hopefully next OCIC won't conflict with Sharks In Hell again, I missed you guys.

Awesome work Texas!
Thanks for hosting an OCIC for the ages.
Roger, a special thanks for letting us sharkless Pac NW dudes borrow your OB for the weekend, what a great ride. Your boundless generosity and endless energy made this a once in a lifetime event. Thanks for letting us all share in your dream, it was truly exceptional.
Jim M., great to see you again (I miss your GTS though, can't wait to see it soon),although my head is still spinning from doing piston speed calculations.
Sean R. did a great job keeping us gearheads snacking and hydrated at the dynocom, great job in keeping the cars moving on and off the rollers. Some very impressive numbers put down by all, always great to see.
All the Texas crew was great, thanks to Mike and John for taking us out to Billy Bob's, although I still don't know what a Honky Tonk is. (but must admit seeing a bull riding pen inside a bar is pretty damn cool!)
Paul Champagne gave a great tech session on interior work and design, the man truly is an enthusiast as much as he is an artist.
James M's DVD presentation was incredible, a must have for any 928 owner's collection. And speaking of collections, James' is an event in itself.
Terri K. made a great point in conversation, and in honor of that I'm adding my 928OC association in my signature line. Let's spread the word!
Great to see so many 928 friends again in person. Those of us who may sometimes forget the value of 928OC membership are firmly reminded at each OCIC the importance of the 928 Owner's Club. There is no other way that we would be able to come together from around the world as 928 enthusiasts in the same manner.
Good times and great memories,
THANKS TEXAS!

Hey Adam,

it was nice meeting you face to face. Sorry I missed you on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I will have to tell H it is all your fault if he doesn't have his manual cover

AMEN Adam, AMEN!

Thanks for the kudos on the DVD and the collection...I had hoped to have one more car (an OB to complete the 4 body styles) on hand, but my driver had to go to a job interview that day and thankfully he GOT THE JOB, so I am glad he did not come up afterall!

The event really was as great as everyone is saying. Many thanks to Roger, Jim, and everyone else who obviously put in a lot of time to make the whole thing come together - the results of your efforts speak for themselves. Where else can you go to see Marc White trying to snort leather samples or hear leather expert Paul Champagne tell you the proper way to place your butt in the seat so that you don't wear out the bolsters or break the seat frame?

I usually only lurk on this forum, but one of the most pleasant suprises for me was the number of people who attended who have been involved with the 928 for so long now. It's kind of like a Verizon commercial - buy a 928 and it comes with a dedicated support team!

Likewise Paul. I very much look forward to the time when I can say I have Champagne interior. Getting to drive in Roger's OB over the weekend was almost more than my senses could bare, the buttery soft leather, the firm support, the wonderful scent - kind of like being in the arms of a beautiful woman and taking a leather bath all at the same time.

Sorry we missed you in the morning, we got a little bit of a late start due to all the "Honky Tonkin' " from the night before. We made it out to the convention center about 9:45'ish but you and all that wonderful leather must have gotten an earlier start to your ride home.

I'm sure H will understand, I'll just tell him I had a leather hangover from driving in Roger's Champagne-seated OB the day before, how could he not understand that?

Cheers Paul

I have a dream James, and it involves, you, your race car, and a half dozen knuckleheads from the Pac NW all buzzing around a track somewhere.... just be easy on us.

The DVD is remarkable. I think of it in the same light as Phil Tong's website for those of us that were looking into 928's when the internet was just getting user friendly. I think anyone who bought a 928 between 8 and 12 years ago has a dusty printed copy of Phil's website tucked away somewhere. Your DVD is a modern version of that, all the basic information that anyone new to 928's is going to want to know about the evolution of the model, and a lot of great footage that all us veterans will never get tired of watching.
I can't fathom the amount of time you have in the project James. My hacking up about 8 minutes of track footage of my car taking three laps around Spokane took me forever, a full blown production like yours is a true commitment. Thanks for the Herculean effort, and truly wonderful result. What a great way to show new folks interested in our cars what its all about. ( I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing your GTS running flat out on the autobahn )

Adam,

Thanks man! It was a huge commitment but one I could and was willing to make for the community! To compensate me at minimum wage and break even this project would require that I sell one to just about EVERY 928 owner on the planet! LOL!

It was great fun and if it ends up being even HALF as useful as Phil's web site (still available through the 928 Owners Club I might add!!!) then I will be ecstatic!

BTW, I need to get your address so I can send one up to the PacNW too! Was looking for you after I loaded up my cars on the trailer but you guys had already run off! Sorry I missed saying good bye for now.

On your dream, I would LOVE to come up there some day! Lets pray our dreams all come true!

Looks like it was every bit as awesome an event as we knew it would be! Thanks for sharing all the pics, it helps somewhat in therapy for those of us that couldn't attend. Wish we could of made it out, but just too much going on for us to budge, including Pamela's S4 pulling a 'limp mode' on us last Thurs. Glad that didn't happen somewhere in between Fla. & Texas!

Have to say that this was by far the most fun you could have with your clothes on, and I some how (thankfully) missed the Nakid Cowboy thing. Moon Flower.......I might have been there but man, with drinking partners like Shawn (Sean), Nunn, Dan, Richard, Chuck and a whole host of others, it's no wonder I missed some things.

Got to say I'm sorry to Zane for the 2am phone call and door knocking because we ran out of beer on the front steps of the hotel. At the time it sure seemed like an emergency to a few of us. I think it would have been less funny and better for our heads if the door was not answered. How we didn't get tossed out I'll never know.

HUGE thanks to Dan for picking up the bar AND dinner on Thursday night. He is one hell of a nice guy. Sorry buddy, I think I lost the shot glass. Someone really needs to thank Shawn (Sean) for his bar tab on Friday, All I remember was it was right at $200.00 and he was pretty sober at that point....didn't last long though.

Aside from the usual partayin some of us partook in, the entire convention was fantastic. Lots of have said it already, but big thanks to Roger and Jim, they did the leg work and put up the $$$$ to make it happen. I honestly thought we'd have a bigger group of DFW'ers there registered, but it was not to happen. I'm sure we could have broke the 100 mark if the guys that showed up w/o cars had brought them, it would have been great. Thanks for coming out anyway

I wish I had been able to see some of the stuff going on Saturday like Paul and Linda's presentation and been able to spend more time on Louis Otts ST2 demo, I ended up getting pulled from one car to another checking stuff out, I hope I was of help you those that needed it.

Getting to meet everyone that I've spent a few years reading the posts of, advice of, and using the knowledge of, was huge for me. I can't even begin to name them all. Bill, Stan, Professor Ott, Dr. Bob....the entire lot of you was just fantastic. I do have to thank Stan (MrMerlin) for haning out last night and today giving a hand and some great advice on how to make some jobs much easier, or at least possible for me to do. We figured out an A/C deal on one car that a few here are having issues with so he showed me a route that cut my time in 1/4.

Yes, I have lots of pictures and video, plus the dyno charts all on my memory stick, but as of 8pm tonight, I just got done working on a timing belt job (almost finished) and had to fix Angs drivers door window. I need to spend some time with the family since my kiddo is back after her 6 week training out of state.

Thanks again for everyone coming, helping, and putting it together.
