928 Owners Club International Convention - Dallas July 31st to August 2nd 2009

7 Weeks to go until 928 OCIC

The Texas Group are hosting the 2009 OCIC here in Dallas at the Arlington Convention Center. http://www.arlingtontx.gov/acc/index.html
We have room for circa 300 cars in airconditioned comfort.
As of today we have about 70 cars signed up for attendance

The hotel of choice is the Sheraton and situated about 100 yds from the convention center. Special Rate of $119 per night - just mention Porsche 928 Owners Club.

Access to and from the convention center will be available on the Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning for those that wish to use their cars locally.

The fun starts on Friday the 31st July with a Dyno Day hosted by Dyncom http://www.dynocom.net/
At there facility in Fort Worth not far from Arlington.
Starting at 9.00am and finishing at 5.00pm depending on participation.
Large car park where we will have small hospitality area for "meet and greet" and beverages.

Car cleaning will be available from mid day at the convention center - hose and buckets will be provided. Detailing services also available.

This event will only succeed if enough people participate and agree to the charges. About 20 cars are required to make the event viable. So far only one person - me - has committed to attend.

On Friday evening there will be a reception at the Sheraton with finger food and a cash bar. If people do not behave themselves I may have to start a Karaoke session.

Saturday will start at about 10.30am and finish about 5.00pm. Lots and Lots of good things happening.
928 Owners Club dispaly with lots of goodies for sale.
Paul Champagne will be demonstrating his skills with leather.
Louis Ott and Jim Corenman will be demonstarting the new SharkTuner 2
Carl Fausett is bringing his awesome Race Car
James Morrison is bringing his collection of cars.
Sterling Gee will have his famous car on display - yes it does exist 8>)
Paintless Dent Repair.
Detailing and demonstartions.
Dave & Jeannie Roberts from 928 Specialists will be there
Mark Anderson from 928 International will be there
928sRus will be displaying some of there products.
Concours and Street Concours events
The "Wingnut" award
Recognition of people who have contributed to the 928 community.
Lots of Door Prizes.
and more and more!!!!

If you signed up for food with your registration you will be provided with lunch.

In the evening there will be a dinner followed by music and frivolity - alchohol may be involved 8>).

On Sunday we are planning two road tours (details being planned) heading in different directions. This will allow out of town owners to participate and then leave to complete there homeward journey.
