i've seen the issue where it can be incredibly close to the rad hose. As said earlier, the 85/86 hose fixes this. Are you guys saying that the belt is skipping forward on the pulley closer to the rad hose?

Yes, Mike, the belt moved forward such that 2-3 ribs are off the front of the pulley. Mine did it and so did Seth's. A spacer largely fixed it.

I run ribbed belts on my PS and Airpump pulleys. However, they do not walk out for whatever reason... I am using the setup I bought from Delta P, as the crank pulley also has a 6 rib blower drive in 7 inch dia... It's hard anodized black, and has been on the car for 1-2 yrears with no problems..

So, Mike....... is the PS pulley installed flat side out?

I *think* its flat-side out, but I really don't remember, I'll mention something here when I get home. I also owe the thread some pics of how the pullies/belts are setup. I just simply haven't had a belt walk or become "chewed" up due to any alignment issues (7-8K miles daily driving and the belts have never needed to be changed).

Yeah, mine is flat side front. Thanks for any follow-up, Mike. I've had minimal problems since I put in a spacer to put the pulley a little more foward.

I also found that if you zip tie the fan shroud to the little rubber/metal pieces on top that the radiator "floats" in, you can get a little tension and keep the radiator about a half inch closer to the front of the car, which also gives more room for comfort.

Get an 85-86 radiator hose for problem 1
I drove from SF to Sacramento with PS
I drove from Sacramento to Portland Oregon with no PS, it's a problem but can be remedied by adding a spacer.

I am at work and can't go to the car and measure right now, but Sab and I are doing some pulley research. Anyone know the outside diameter of the power steering pump pulley in the Andy Keel set up? We are looking at getting some made with inner and outer lips to stop the belt walking issue.

Also, does anyone know what diameter a 8PSI SC pulley would have to be?
Is anyone selling these pulleys or should I get the SC pulley made as well?

Is it not possible and easier to place 2 thin disks (like shields) of larger diameter on each side of the pulley and hold them with nuts and bolts through holes drilled in the pulley?

Seems that centrigugal setups don't typically have a problem with power steering. They have their own list of problems, but not related to PS

In the front of the pulley, yes it is. In the back not. Since the belt for some unexplainable reason at times starts to wonder off in either direction, it would be better to make a pulley that forces the belt to to stay put.

My Delta P pulley does that...and I think other kits have a PS pulley with sidewalls. May be not all of them, but it's worth it to check where they sourced theirs. There is not a whole lot to these pulleys, so do some looking around before you have them custom built...you may save some $
