When you you guys want to start? What time? I'm thinking in the 8-9 range (except for Nicole) And if you're not here right at the beginning (except Bill) it's ok, we'll be here a while.

Beth:

9 am is OK with me and maybe even a bit early. The real determinant of how long this will take is the WP bolts. As I recall, the is the first TB for this car, so the WP is probably original. That means we could be facing a challenge in that regard.

And about those bushings...if your's look good I vote to leave them alone, but I have a few extras just in case. They are rather flimsy plastic and trend to break as you try to seat them if you aren't lucky.

Daily prayer, facing Stuttgart: NO BROKEN WATER PUMP BOLTS!

Hi Beth & Rich:

My god, how long has your car been sitting?

I was just wondering if you'd done the timing belt yet. When I was over to pick up the wheels in, what November - December, Rich told me you could use my "expertise" when you did the T-belt. Since I hadn't heard anything, I figured it was done.

I'll try to make it on the 12th if I can, but I've been playing catch-up since the holidays, so it's day by day. I'll bring my 9201 for comparison purposes....

Well, from what Bill says, Rich and I will be up and going early to get the prep work done and we'll plan on getting serious around 10 am. So anytime say from 9 on that you guys want to show up would be fine.

James - I was wondering if you'd chime in. I sure hope you can make it and least for a bit if nothing else. Poor car's been basically sitting since last October. Because of the weather we've not attempted to schedule a TB party. If it rains we're screwed. So the poor baby's been sandbagged in the garage.

And I'm still praying - NO BROKEN BOLTS!!!

Beth, make sure your battery is okay and charged up. You wouldn't want a bad battery from complicating the work.

Why doesn't anybody on the east coast have these parties?

Matt's got a point.... if you can charge it up and haul it to someone that can load test it, that would be a good idea... unless you've had it on a tender all this time.

Well, since this is a party with German cars and at least SOME German people, I'll contribute some German food. If you guys liked the potato salad, I'll make some more. I can also bring some German pickles, and possiblly a few other little thingies.

Beth got the directions and will see you at 9. Is there anything you would like me to bring food or drink wise? Tools?

Regards,

Beth, I hope you have hired someone to direct traffic and arranged for off-site parking! This couild be the biggest TB/WP party yet outside of a Frenzy or SITM.

Good point on the battery. I'll check it out and put it on the charger if necessary. Thanks Nicole. Pickles are great and you're doing the salad dressing too for the green salad. as we talked about last night.

And we're ready for the parking thing. Neighbors have all been alerted and are ready.

And I have assigned the task of grill master and cook to my dad - so we'll have yummy stuff throughout the day. Definately can't have anyone getting hungry!

And if anyone wants to bring anything, feel free, I won't tell you no. But I'll have lots to eat and drink - it's my way of saying thanks to all of you for the help.

Beth,

Can Porsches other than 928s show up? I'd like to see how this job is done, but my 928 has also been sitting in the garage waiting (for some lovin') patiently for when I start working on her.

I'll e-mail you the directions. It'd be great to see you!
