Pre-emptory Prayer for Saturday...
May the crank bolt break free with less than 500 ft-lbs of torque...
May the flywheel lock hold if the above is not true...
May the harmonic balancer slip off the crank at the first gentle wiggle...
May the water pump bolts give up their torque cleanly to the wrench without a fight...
May the block drains come out without breaking off...maybe we'll just skip the block drains...
May the cam gears have all their original anodization...
May the tensioner's expansive washers all be intact...
May the tensioner arm bushings slide on like butter...
May the tensioner hold oil after the rebuild...
May the cam gear timing line up just right when the new belt is slipped on...
May there be no left over bolts when the job is done... at least no big ones...
May the car start immediately and purr like a happy kitten...

Geoff you should get a new set of front pads. If the piston inside the caliper had a rust ridge and it was sticking (which I doubt) pushing the pistons all the way back in and installing new thick pads would probably get you back on the smooth surface below the ridge. Besides driving with the brakes on probably has worn down quit a bit of the pads. I really suspect that you had a booster issue.

Went shopping last night and can not find water wetter!!! I wouldn't exactly call Napa a shopping paradise - except for wine and that won't help the car any. Where should I go? Help!!!!

As I recall ,Water wetter actually lowers the boiling point which is why you only use a little bit

Lowers the boiling point? But why would you want your water to boil? I thought water was for cooling and boiling water doesn't do that. I'm confused . . . .

It gives you an extra margin before you might run too hot and boil. It effectively makes your coolant a little more effective. IMHO, if your cooling system is up to snuff the stuff isn't needed. I run my a/c in the summer here in cowtown in stop and go traffic in 100+ temps and have never had a problem. It is just a bit of insurance.
