Default Garage 928

I was told by the owner of Garage 928 Richard van Meeteren that my s4 was complete and ready to be picked up. And I paid the invoice in full $7,715. That was 150 days ago. No work had been done to my car as confirmed when Two 928 brothers showed up and examined the car for me. Still trying to give him another month and he does not do the work I paid for, but sends me a new invoice for $3,335. My car is in pieces I will be out 5k of that money. I just want my car out of there. He says he is charging me $25 a day storage. Y'all know this fake german, When I looked online and even here I did not see anything about Garage 928 or Richard van Meeteren. Just Scott saying sometime about bumper covers. So far 6 people have come forward with the same story. 1 women bought a s4 from him 3 years ago. Gone. $28,000 gone. Anyone have a story. Officer Paige Kirby case #20-00990 Paige.kirby@mycityofmiltonga.us. Also it is hard to take a bad review off of yelp, put one there. Anyone need proof happy to give it.

Bummer, sorry to hear that and I hope you get back what is yours. I was advised early in my 928 ownership experience to avoid him. I’m now glad that I stayed away.

Yeah, been following this in Sean's sandbox on FB. It is blowing up over there. I didn't know this guy was this bad. Some good experiences, but then truckloads of bad ones. Remember Mason? That was his MO too - do great for a few, catch a good buzz from them, then rip off everyone else.

This is a civil matter, the police probably won’t be of any value to you without a court order in your favor, especially if he says you still have a balance due. He could actually file a mechanic’s lien on the car and take ownership of it, have a title issued in his name. You need an attorney at this point, badly!

I read a thread about Garage 928, go to about post #20:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...atlanta-2.html

Several of the people that had first hand knowledge of the man are regulars on this forum, so you may get more feedback. But the bottom line is you really need an attorney.

I can certainly keep a car for 150 days (or longer, depending on the job)....but you won't get a bill for work that hasn't been done...and you sure as hell won't have to pay for storage, because I'm not working on your car. That takes some serious *****.

You might want to send down two Russian brothers for an attitude adjustment, instead of two 928 guys.....just a thought.

RS Martin and Kevin in Atlanta both have stories and info about him.

I almost took my car there for some work a few years ago. He no-showed the meeting we were supposed to have about it at a Road Atlanta meet-up and I decided to just do it myself - glad I did after hearing the stories.

Here's one of the threads - https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...n-atlanta.html

Not sure how you issue a mechanic's lien on a car that isn't finished. And if it were finished we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Agreed. I wanted to make sure that others here knew what he was doing on social media.

If I called you a liar and a thief on facebook and reenlist and it was not true, you could just put up a video of my car running and moving, like I been asking for for 3 months. Instead go with the I haven't paid a invoice.

I don’t do FaceBook, would you mind posting a screenshot of what you saw?

But filing a lien is not at all as easy as it sounds, and there are some steep penalties and fines for doing it wrong, falsely, or with malice. He would need to hire an attorney, who would likely advise him to straighten up and fly right!

The attached article happened to be in our local paper and is eerily relevant.

I believe I would show up with a rollback and a Sheriff deputy and get my car out of there.
