That is a service that is hard to find near Atlanta or even on the east coast.

The safest bet is to ship it to Greg Brown.

Only person to ever turn a wrench on my 88-S4 for the last 23 years. Howard recently held tech session at his shop for Rendezvous 928 PCNA.
It's like talking to Yoda about your 928. A Great Guy.

I’ve “known” Howard for years but met him for the first time at 928 Rendezvous. He’s as **** retentive as I am, if not more.

You will need a timing belt tension at ~2,000 miles, even though we "kissed" it, before it left. No guessing. Whoever does it must have a 9201 tool. Have them tension the belt to 5.0.
I'd change the oil and filter at that point, also. Brad Penn 20-50.

Seeing as garage 928 is 5 minutes from my work and 15 minutes from my apartment, why should I not used them? I don't intend to have any shop doing serious work, just PPI's, maybe some electrical diagnostics if an infestation of gremlins pops up, or an oil change if I'm feeling particularly lazy. All the preventative or deferred maintenance I've heard of these cars needing I'd be happy to do myself.

I'm not going to post those details into a public forum. Just either take our word for it and use one of the much more highly respected shops talked about here or reach out to RS Martin or Kevin Berez (Kevin in Atlanta) for some additional details (if they're willing to share).

Avoid Garage 928 at all cost. Many others in town. I have personally used German Car repair for my 911s and BMWs.

I have first hand experience with Garage 928 in Atlanta. I am still trying to recoup bumpers and money that were taken by this one man shop. Others have had costly experiences. Avoid this shop. If you want details, pm me.

I am in Dallas and it's none of my business...but my curiosity is killing me. If the Garage 928 guy is a specialist, why is he not here chiming in? It seems like it would make good business sense to be immersed in this site....

He doesn't post anymore.

He faced a number of accusations.

He claimed they were groundless and that he was being unfairly targeted.

He's active on FB.

He's been accused of 'less than ethical' business practices on there too, but he can control who has access to his page on there.

I have no direct experience with him, and I know perfectly well how stories can travel.
Some people have had good experiences with him.
But I would be very careful dealing with him.
YMMV.

A background check on Richard H. Van Meeteren will show that there is a lien, from a civil suit he lost, on some of his property. Further research will reveal that this lien is a direct result of his bad business behaviors. Just another factual data point.

Hello- Anyone know if European Classics / Howard Wright is still open? This week I left two voice mails and sent two emails (beginning and end of week) with no response. Seeing as how he is so respected I wanted him to look over my 928S4, but I’m not having any luck

He is as far as I know, but I’ll admit that it’s been a few months since I’ve spoken with Howard on the phone. I’d try again on Monday morning and hopefully someone will answer their phone.

I stumbled across another 928 mechanic. Charlie Grant 706-376-7623

He's located near Lake Hartwell in north Georgia. He was recommended by Joe Cogbill, a legend in air cooled arena.

Reputedly as good as Howard, but lower shop rate and insists you hold onto you car until he's ready to work on it.
