Default 928 Mechanics in Atlanta?

I recently brought my 928GT out from California and I am in need of a good shop to support it here. Does anyone have any experience with a trusted shop?
Thanks
J

Garage928 in Alpharetta is an independent model specialist.

Hennessy Porsche in Roswell is a Porsche Classic Partner.

There are quite a few of us here in Atlanta. Several of us do our own work for almost everything mechanical, excluding transmissions, those things are voo-doo nd back magic!

Kevin Berez (kevin_in_atlanta) and I have 9 or 10 between us and are always willing to help out a fellow 928 owner. Feel free to PM either of us.

I trust Kevin. He's been building a 6.5 liter variant, with my guidance...and has a pretty good handle on these cars.

Although I've not personally seen any of Garage 928's work, the people who I know are not very impressed with their work.

Porsche Classic should be able to do everything except tune.....except they will be in "sensory" overload.

Regardless of who you find to maintain it, remember that I'm only a phone call away and will talk with whoever is touching it!

Welcome to Atlanta!

I have been very impressed with German Car Repair, 6070 Atlanta Hwy, Alpharetta, GA, Tel 770-649-8700, website: https://germancarrepair.com

Alan is the owner and they have a Porsche trained tech who is also a 928 owner. Last time I was there they had a few 928s on their lifts getting work done in their spotless new facility, as well as 911s and other German makes.

They have been in business for many years and are true enthusiasts.

Were you the guards red 928 I saw on McFarland Pkwy at about 7:10 this morning? It was a real treat to see a 928 out on the road.

Not me, I live in Dacula just off I-85, agree you don't see too many and a Guards Red one in Atlanta pretty rare!

It was only about a half mile from garage 928, although they didn't pull on our pull off the road where they should have it that was their destination or where they were coming from.

Still, this was the first time I have ever seen a 928 in motion, it really cemented something. I'd been playing with getting a 16v for ~15k over getting a Cayman, but now I think I'm sold.

Thanks Constantine. That is the kind of shop I want to use.

Only person to ever turn a wrench on my 88-S4 for the last 23 years. Howard recently held tech session at his shop for Rendezvous 928 PCNA.
It's like talking to Yoda about your 928. A Great Guy.

Sean Freed is the best mechanic I've ever met. That was the worst part about having to move away from Atlanta, having to find a new shop I trust.

Any of these Atlanta folks have the ability to properly oversize Alusil blocks?

I'd avoid Garage 928, but all the other recommendations are legit.
