What do you know about that car Gage? Looks like you have THE 924 Carrera GT book I've seen floating around.

Yes, interesting book. The Porsche 924 Carrera by Roy Smith, the author is looking mostly at the racing developments of the 924. The car pictured was one of three built for display in late 79 to gauge public reaction to both the new look (debut of the wide fender) and the attachment of the Carrera title (a first for a front engine Porsche). Porsche was preparing to field 3 924's for the 1980 Le Mans 24 hour. With a focus on racing, the author doesn't provide details on body color so it is my assumption based on visual clues that this is pearl white. Interestingly, another 924 book I have by Peter Morgan shows some special models of the 924, produced in both 1978 and 1979 called Switzerland and Cork (M428) respectively, carrying the color name of pearl metallic.

The car on the right is certainly the one which is on display at the Porsche Museum, in Stuttgart.

A rare dry spring day in CT and the Brumos car is out in the wild. Running errands and working out the kinks, fear not ye purists the BBS wheels are temporary.

I couldn't believe all the grunge living under my rear spoiler when I removed it for paint prep <insert green puking emoji here>

Ugh, yes, exactly...I was amazed there was no actual corrosion under all of that. I might have been lucky.

Hey Andrew, I'm curious. I've always heard that the "928" insignia that is embossed in the center of the lower hatch trim that you can see on pre-S cars (seen below) was also under the spoiler on S cars. Since you have the spoiler off, can you verify that is the case?

It doesn't look like it in the picture above. I don't remember seeing it when I had my spoiler off either, but I can't swear it wasn't there...

Not there... no side or bottom trims, only top. The ones you may find under a spoiler are probably from non spoiler cars getting the "upgrade" , these usually don't have the right quarter window trims or seals either.

Some fun finds upon disassembly. Production number inside rear hatch, and hand written color code inside the mirrors
