9-28-18: its first real road test (about a mile) in many years. - With this drive the last of the major "known unknowns" have been eliminated; Transmission works and is quiet but has typical synchro wear (remember that the clutch was in a shambles when found, so I expected transmission issues) Engine runs well, has fresh valve drive components, water pump, etc. cracked fuel tank replaced, fuel lines done, clutch and clutch hydraulics refreshed, brake master, hoses, pads, correct exhaust back in place, instruments and most electrics sorted.
As part of the triage, every bad part of the interior has been removed : every scrap of carpet (both sets) , dash, pod and console, so we're driving around with the instrument panel bolted to its mounts without a pod for the moment. There's a lot of wires hanging all over the place but this is a great way to sort through electrics and heating HVAC system with everything exposed. ...and It does smell a lot better in there.
Next up: finish electrics, door services (windows, locks, mirrors, etc) start rebuilding interior. Chase the hundreds of neglected maintenance items remaining.

Interesting about the standard GP white under everything in your car. Are you sure it is not the "body in white" primer/paint under there? Every car seems to have different amounts of color over primer in the trunk, floors, etc. The Brumos car is "pearl" pretty much everywhere, trunk, wheel wells, firewall, underside, etc. On the body there's a pearl base coat, and clear on top of it...on the inner surfaces its a little flat. There was no L947 when this car was built so they may have recorded it "metallic GP white"
Oh, that could very well be it, I didn't think about the primer being white, just figured just figured they took a white car just before the final coat and shot the pearl coat on it. The white on the floor boards is not very shiny. My paint code is L999 and interior code is 98 (maybe because it is just full leather and yours has the script and stripes)?
