Here we go into a controversial phase of this project... The Deborah Gregg / Miami Vice / 1980s Brumos Era 928 seats are getting shipped out for restoration. I've had a beautiful set of correct black sport seats for 930/ 928 up to 1984 sitting around here for years waiting for the right car, and I had pretty much convinced myself that it would be a lot easier, cheaper, and possibly in better taste to use them in the pearl 928 in place of the originals. A recent development regarding the future of this 928 now dictates that the correct seats end up back in it.
After some conversations with a number of upholsterers I've decided to go with https://www.sonderwerks.com/ Porsche restoration facility in North Carolina. Specifically we discussed all of the wrong ways that 928 seats are often getting done these days and how to avoid those pitfalls. Next week I'll be shipping off all of the original seats and the best of my spare foams i've collected over the years. Owner Dave knows a lot of people are watching this project and is excited to be a part of it. I'm hoping his team can conquer some of the details that are often lacking with regard to seat shape with 928 seats. I know if he gets these right it will give the community another alternative for this type of work.
Looking mighty fine there bud! I will be interested to see how the seats turn out with Sonderwerks. I'm sure they will look stellar. I will have a set for them to do for me if that's the case.
LOL, I was enjoying the aesthetics of that picture and then had the epiphany about why Porsche keychains have a leather 'surround' for the crest. I'm with Samuel.
Well, you guys know Droo - there was probably more of a chance of mankind populating Mars this summer than of Droo scratching that paint in setting up that cool shot

Yup.
I don't doubt that Droo took great care with the setup.
