Bought mine at 15 for $1500 I paid like $1000 for it and my parents paid the rest as a birthday and christmas present. I did alot of work on it, at least $1200 more. It gets kind of annoying though about how when ever someone finds out they all make a huge deal about me owning a Porsh.

This is a very interesting thread. My hats off to you young cats with really awesome taste. I commend your choice and dedication to these fine automobiles. It's rare for kids to have good taste. Most kids your age are probably driving Fart Can Ricers. I got my first 944 a few years back for my mid-life crisis at 36. I'd like to know why most of you young guys decided to get the 944 series other than its the most affordable. What else swayed your decision.

I thought i had posted in here..but i guess not. I got my first 944 when i was 15, with my (twin) brother and then picked up a 951 not to long ago, and still have both. the 84 is our so called "beater" car and everyday driver. the 951 is our track/weekend car. And i get so much **** for driving a Porsche at school in unbelievable. the sad thing about it is i know its probably one of the cheapest cars in the parking lot, is 23 years old, and made it in the nice rides page in the yearbook (my dream come ture.)
Does any one else that drives their 944 to school, have an insane amount of people that want to race you? I think i've had about every kid in the school ask me if im up for a street race. and the obvious answer is an immediate; i'll see you at the track.

Got mine back on April 25th. I Turn 17 in two days. She doesn't quite run right at the moment, but I start my first job (full time 40hrs/week at that!) this coming monday. I make double what half the kids in school make an hour, and will be busting my *** from 11:30pm-8:00am making money to get my car up and running again. Parents bought my car, but I have to keep driving my '92 Toyota pickup for another 5 years before it's upgraded...unless I pay off the 944.
I originally wanted to get one of these cars two years ago at the age of 14/15 because I HATE having the same things as other people in my school/ small town. This also included the reasons of the look, the price, and the performance. I love Porsches, and plan to own more in my life...so this is just the beginning, and figured I should start young, lol.
And yes, the **** talking is overwhelming. I have 400lb kids driving oldsmobiles telling me my car is a poser. Then kids that say their civic is faster...

Most kids around my town can't appreciate old muscle. They don't know what old muscle is. They would rather look at the '99 cavalier driving by with no front bumper, and spray bombed rear bumper with 16" wheels and 2 foot of fender gap then look at my dads all factory '65 Nova SS. I can appreciate old muscle because I was raised into it and know about it, but I do have to say I like the cars of today as well.
What gets me is just how some of these people have worse vehicles then I do, and they still think they have the stand point to talk **** on mine. Then again, a few people have realized my 944 is extremely nice...so they result to telling me how it's two different colors because it has been repainted...and they don't even HAVE a car! The things people will do to get on your nerves...I swear.
Not to mention, the people that talk **** on you for years and make fun of you, but as soon as you get a "porshhh", they are nice to you everyday and beg for a ride.
If I could do it again, I would have waited another year until I was in college, to get one!
