damn, lots of you kids with these cars!
I guess I count in that group
got my 944 this summer (when I was 18)... ah so much fun... Too bad this was after i Graduated
It would have been so awesome to cruise to my high school in a Porsche..but then there woulda been punks that woulda messed it up.. though i could show that guy with the ultra rice toyota paseo a real sports car
now its fall (though in alaska, we kinda skip fall and go more or less straight to winter, it just now snowed when we were expecting it weeks ago!)
im 19, at college, and missing my lil porsche all covered up in the yard, nestled away to await spring
I really wish our 2 car garage wasnt used for storage
im really nervous about it being outside all winter
though it is well covered, was cleaned thoroughly before going under, and the engine just got fresh clean oil, and made sure the coolant was up to snuff, and blocked it up some to lessen the pressure on the tires
and put a bucket of air drying pellets inside.....
Im still not gonna feel fine till i pull the wrap off in ... like 7 months or so
as for buying it, yes, I paid it all, I've been working since i was 15 (heh, needed a work permit, too) every summer, and even a lil during school
though the money i got from my relatives for graduating high school helped quite a bit

The deal with my parents is I get a 4.0 in school, with advanced classes, and I also have to do some sports.
I am not 100% sure I will get it, but the odds are with me. My sister is going off to college and she will take our junker car. We are buying a 97-98 BMW 740IL sometime soon. I bet I get the Porsche which is worth half as much as the BMW. Fine with me.
I knew it was Risky Buisiness. I saw that movie last night. I didn't get the Sixteen candles one. Oh well

I got my 944 when I turned 17, now I'm 19. Absolutely love it, and since mine is Kalahari Beige, it does not really stand out the way a guards red or black car would. That saved me some unwanted attention in HS, and also seems to keep the police at bay (no tickets so far!).
Hey dash01, my dad is selling his excellent condition Arctic Sliver/Grey '97 740iL. Too bad the car is in Kentucky, about 1500 miles from where you are located. Otherwise it would be cool if we could help you get that 944 you want.

Got my first 944 when i was 17 last year (85.5 black NA) then bout 1 month ago some idiot ran a stop sign ...didnt even stop... tboned me and I went under a parked acura TL. I just got an 89 S2 with turbo twists on it.
At school, some people hated the car and some loved it. I really didnt get it. I heard people talk about my car behind my back saying it was such a "gay" car and such. I proceded to ask how thier 84 ford ranger with the special rust option included and 89 civic with the gaudy inccorrect color oversized wing and sticker on the windshield saying it was a civic was running. I never said one word about my car really. I told my friends i got a new car and drove it to school the next day.
Lesseee what problems have I had with people... One kid tried to spit on my car but luckily my friend stopped him before he did because he woulda had something else coming to him. Another kid went as far as to hit me. When I was leaving school one day he rolled right into me and started laughing at me. I proceded to make him stop laughing...for the next couple minutes until some people made me stop making him not laugh. I really hate people sometimes... If dont have something good to say, dont say it at all and dont spit on or hit my car.

Someone rolled into the S2? I would call the police right then if I could hold my temper. Thats crazy. Hopefully people around here will have some respect for cars in general. Our school has video cameras mounted everywhere so maybe that will discourage some of the nastier people out there.
