Really just more annoying stuff... he put new pads on the rears, but didn't bother to put the anti-rattle springs back in, so the pads rattled all the time - sounded like I had a bad CV joint.
He 'lost' the retaining clip for the shifter, so it rattled, and would pull off the lever.
One of the brackets for the air-box was gone, so I replaced it.
The normal throttle-spring was gone, and instead was a monster spring - it made pressing the throttle a conscious effort, and annoying.
He "converted" to manual steering, by just removing the power-steering pump. (I just picked up a manual rack, so it will be done properly)
Still lots of minor stuff to fix, but I did just pick this up: (not my picture)

Yep, that is a cool little scroll-type supercharger from a VW Corrado.
The interesting thing about this type of supercharger is that it is positive displacement (instant & full-boost), and is really compact - it is only a little larger than the AC compressor!
So, probably not too far off in the future, I will be supercharging my 944NA.
I will shoot for 6psi of boost, which should still work very well on pump-gasoline, not enough power to worry about breaking anything, but should result in a 35-40% hp/tq gain!

Yeah - I'm not going to get too crazy with my 944NA... but I do think a few psi of boost should make it just perfect.
It is also a great way for me to showcase the flex-ability of the NA-Tune.

If you are going with the G60 supercharger, please make sure you take the time to upgrade the reliability of it. There's a ton of different changes you can make to ensure it doesn't fail on you.

Ordered my NA-tune this morning. Josh is converting my DME soon and I already have the off-set key from 928motorsport. Can't wait to play with my new toys, Santa came a little early this year.

Again great work to see this through. Heck this (the NA-tune) might be one of only 3 out of the hundreds of 'upcoming' 944 NA mods that actually came true.
Thanks again Josh,

For a low-boost situation (6psi in this case), I expect to only have to adjust my fuel delivery capability (either larger injectors or raised fuel pressure, I haven't decided yet for my setup). The MAF should have enough headroom to read the additional airflow for my case. The software will see the increased airflow, and therefore the load on the engine, then it will automatically change the ignition timing accordingly.

The standard NA-Tune MAF should be able to read ~200rwhp without changes.
If there is an application that needs more, no problem - I've got a few options.

Josh,
My 951 is going strong and now I am buying a 996. My son drives the 951 and he loves it. By the way, he is doing great and no more USAF. It did him well. Talk soon

Quick question.
My 86 944 n/a dme is the 24 pin and needs to be converted to a 28pin for the maf kit to work. Can it be undone if I sell the car, and want to revert to the stock afm and put the maf kit into my next car?
Cheers.

Yes, undoing the modification is possible, but not necessary. Simply use a normal 28pin chip (from the late cars) if you need to go back to stock.
