So what's the science behind actually needing mid/high grade fuel with your tune..?

Less restriction in air path => more air in chamber + massaged ignition/cam timing => higher peak torque = higher cylinder pressure => higher octane fuel required to avoid detonation.

Yes, it is a custom-grind. I have a feeling that it might be too aggressive, but we will see...

I apologize if this has already been answered, but seeing as you're in Denver, have your numbers been altitude corrected?

Yes they are. The correction factor is a simple scalar. The % gains are not going to change regardless of correction factor.

I expect to see similar % gains to a car at sea-level.

So, it is not going to be from "web cams" or some other vendor? I imagine you'll let us know where you get it from so we can order the same...

Yes, if I find or come-up with a cam solution that shows good gains, I will make it available.

I will be doing final testing this weekend, and then assuming I'm 100% happy, I will put up the order page next week.

Default The Daver

I would ilke to thank you for taking the time to come up with mods for the na 944.I have an 84 with 104,000 km on it. I really love the car.Everytime I think of selling it or moving up to a newer car(think S2 or Boxster or Cayman),all I really end up wishing for is a little more power. The 944 is such a fun, neutral car to drive and their is so few nice ones left.Whenever my car is cleaned right up(guards red with perfect Fuchs)I get more waves and thumbs up than most 911s do.I just can't justify the money a Boxster or Cayman will cost and the associated depreciation. Not to mention I won't be able to do as much work myself anymore.
Their is sooo much satisfaction when I'm on the track with my car and I'm keeping with the big boys (911s) all day in the corners(pca de).And at autocross my friends and I are beating most cars!(pca fun auto crosses). To have another possible 10 to 20 HP to the rear wheels is a dream come true.I hope everything works out well and I can't wait to feel the gains.
Much appreciation for helping the na be a better car.

Cheers,

Josh, what did you have to do to get those made? Can't imagine custom castings are cheap.

The pipes are made the same way as the M-Tune pipes, using a mold and a high-strength, high-temp composite...
You are correct that the molds aren't cheap, however they do allow me to keep cost down in larger volumes, and additionally I know that every MAF pipe will be identical, which makes my Tunes more accurate and consistent.

Dave, thanks for the compliment!
