Well, even though there are certainly lots worse areas of Charlotte, you have to admit the vicinity directly around the mall has declined over the last few years. Especially since the Carolina Place mall area has grown so much....as well as Concord Mills opening and South Park doing renovations....it's as good as dead. But anywayz...I'm sure there will be adequate security to ensure that things go smoothly. I'm sure the local police already have the beginnings of a major woody thinking of all the possible traffic tickets and maybe even a few seizures for the street races that I'm sure will happen. Traffic should be wonderful as well. Ok....enough for the pessimistic talk. I'm sure all drawbacks aside, this should be a blast! But once again I ask.....how will all of the fellow Rennlisters know one another???

I wanna go too. Do I need to join the PCA first before I can do the Autocross? Its one of those things I keep meaning to do, but never do! What are the planned dates, anyone know for certain? I'm about 100 miles from Charlotte

Come on Greenville listers lets go to Charlotte. Anybody know any PCA people that frequent the list. We could get them to come and make this a P-Car event.

How far is this from the DC area? I'd go in a heartbeat. Let me know...And I'm bringing an NA....probably not auto-x'ing it either...

Paul,
Count on 6 hours at 70 mph with a couple of stops (I-95 south to I-85 south). I drove from Charlotte to Wilmington DE yesterday in 8 1/2 hours, which included lengthy delays along I-95. If you do intend on driving down, I'd suggest route 66W/I-81 south to I-77 south. (watch your speed around the I-81/I-77 interchange)

Careful coming down through there, that area is closely watched, ask me how I know.
Since this is a 24hr affair, let's decide on which day we're going to go. It would be way cool if the majority of cars are Porsche! I'm bringing my digital camera and will be shooting some video as well.
