Alright guys, all of the other areas are doing it, so can we! There will be a 24 hour autox in Charlotte at the end of this month. Why not plan a get together around it?

Things just keep getting more and more interesting. Seems like the son has a class assignment to make a film short on any subject, looks like auto-x will be the topic. He'll be shooting footage at the Charlotte auto-x and a couple of others. It will be both in car and out, and should cover some of the basics. The best part is that he wants lots of shots of German cars, ie Porsche, BMW.
Matt- if you need a set of injectors temporarily, I have a spare set from an 85na. Email me and let me know if you need them so you can attend.

I'm in Dave. I'll be getting out of a major field training event but I'll make the drive. By the way, the car is running great and so far no coolant leaks. The temp repair on the intake boot has held up nicely. I put some aircraft grade RTV over it so I have plenty of time to find a cheap one on ebay or somewhere else.
James...
P.S. I took the blue glue for the battery box repair on your car. I can bring it with me again to the autocross and you can have it.

Thanks for the generous offer! As of right now I'm not sure if injectors from an 85 would work with the 89, since it has a 2.7l and that's why I'm having trouble finding them in the first place. If I had an 88, I could get the injectors for 70each and be done with it... but no - they are dealer only and about 120 each... which is why I'm looking into rebuilding. Still looking into a few things, and Chris from 944 Enhancement was good to talk to.
Thanks again,
Matt

Put me down for a 'maybe'...
a) I take care of my Mom... 84, stroke victim 2 yrs. ago.. makes it hard to get away for more than 6 or 8 hours.
b) I'm back to being interim Dep't Chair at work; boss got a temporary transfer; we'll see how this affects my free time & frame of mind.
And honestly, I'm not a real big fan of Charlotte's summer heat & humidity...
But it's a great idea, and I might just get there for a short visit.
Jim, out to clean the garage, post master & slave cylinder installation...

I'm soooo there. Even though Eastland is a "low-rent" kind of area (hope everyone has their alarms working and guns loaded....just kidding). This should be interesting. But how would I ecognize fellow Rennlisters??? Also, would there be a webpage with specifics on the event???

Well, it wasn't always quite a "low rent" district. It's not too bad now, I was just there about 3 hours ago. Last time I did the event was in 1981. There were even auto-x events held in the streets of downtown Charlotte. Talk about an interesting course. As many as post on the Rennlist, we should be able to get a really good showing. I don't care if it's a waterpumper or not, we should get out and support the marque against the bat-winged, yellow "type R" hordes.
