Hopefully we will have a good turn out and not too many will have last min cancelations. I hope to see you all there and that you all have good drives down, my 951 will be there, I have gotten enough little things squared away that I can drive her over, the auto-x is still up in the air, but we shal see.....

I doubt that I will be bringing my 951 to Charlotte this weekend. I finally got it all back together (water pump, rollers, belts, etc ...) and now my valves are making a ton of noise. They made noise before hand, but it seems to be louder now. I'm going to mess with it some more tomorrow night and see if I can figure anything out. I still plan on being there ... just maybe not in the Porsche.

Can't make it guys...my front end shimmy has turned into a full-out shake and I fear driving my car more than a few miles. I think the wheel might fall off. I am pretty sure its the wheel bearing, but I can't do anything with it until saturday because my only friend with a decent tool set around here (I am in crofton, not at school where all of my tools are) is out of town until saturday and can't help me with it until then. On top of that, I only found one place that could align my car with no problem around here (annapolis area) and they were booked until tuesday, which is my first day of school and I don't want to miss that. Sorry guys...maybe next time.

I'll be there, albeit a bit late. Son has to work till noon, we bang out for the auto-x then. I'll have video and digital still cameras with me and am planning on getting photos and footage of everyone for the website Matt put up. I would do this but I'm short on time due to school and other obligations if I'm going to be able to head up there this weekend.

But, if someone wants to search P-CarOnline for all Porsches in NC/SC/VA or all 944s or what have you, feel free, and then shoot those folks an email using the system (Email this member) and tell them about this weekend.

Also, I'm going to try to make the drive up to VIR this weekend and hopefully say HI to Mr. John D. himself. Depending upon how things go, I may just leave my car in Raleigh and ride down with one of you fine folks, so after we get back to Raleigh I'll make the drive up to Alton, VA.

Hello my water cooled, front engine brothers. Chris Lockhart here, from the 928 board. I just wanted to say thanks to Matt Olde for his invite on the 928 board. It was nice to see some cross list pollenization. I plan on attending tomorrow just to check out all the fine P-cars, and hopefully will be following Don up from Greenville S.C. (still need to call him in a little while to confirm) Any rate, I hope to meet all of you that are attending. I should be easy to spot. Just look for the big guy with the cowl induction hooded, loud, red 928, with a big wing. LOL. Till tomorrow then, <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

As I e-mailed to the two people who I've gotten a positive response from:

I'm sorry to inform you guys but I'm not going to be able to meet you guys tomorrow. My daily driver has a broken transmission, and the turbo just shot the crank pulley out... My buddies with the BMWs are going to VIR for the Rolex race/PCA and I might join them. If I find a ride to Charlotte I'll be there but I will not be able to see the beginning of the auto-x.

Let me know if I can help you guys figure anything out.

Well, I think several of us are still in. Last note I saw was to meet at the Carowinds outlets between 9:00 and 10:30. From there is is a 5 minute drive.
