Today, wished like hell I had my 944T back because I could pretty much always find a way to fix it. The main reason I wished this is because I was working on my 04 Audi A4 and ran into the dreaded control arm pinch bolt rust festival while upgrading to Bilstein shocks... Die pinch bolt, die.

Fabricated a new belly pan. Really clean and easy install bolting it under the radiator and then the aluminum subframe. I'm curious to see if it affects temps at all.

Replaced front sway bar drop link bushings.

Just about finished fabricating brackets to mount my 968 brake scoops (lower halves) to the lower control arms. The "ghetto" bracket on top of the sway bar bushing somehow got the job done, but I wasn't proud of it! I'm using aluminum "L" stock 3/4" wide from Home Depot as the mounting bracket and I'm going to attach directly to the control arm.

thats what the hole right under the cap is for. you just run a line to the ground . works the same way the overflow works on the stock expansion tank. you just need to be a little more cautious of it. It really requires not much more than just popping the cap off and making sure you can still see coolant every once in a while when the car is cold.

I feel your pain LT. I deal with that problem all the time as a audi tech. I hope you put some antisieze on the new bolts!

I always thought the purpose of expansion is for rising and falling coolant levels. If your car evacuates coolant is it not replaced with air? Thus a air pocket? Time will tell I geuss. I do like the idea though.

+1
seems like you'd be forced to run low on coolant permanently to avoid it spilling away

Figured out that some water was leaking into salon through a crack in the heating unit. Silicone grease made a wonder and fixed it at least temporary.

Brakes - Paid someone to do rear disks pads and sensors and new fluid. Pad sensor light was on so I could no longer wait until I get to doing it myself. $560 ouch!

Did you paint the hood latch on purpose or are you planning on cleaning it ? You should go with fixed headlights, that will clean up the engine bay even more.

i've always wondered about using 2 headlight motors. in my 944 the motor is on the left, in my '78 924 n/a and '80 924 turbo it was on the right. i always wondered how easy it would be to run both and get rid of the linkage. its just a pity the motors aren't smaller an less intrusive.
