When I recovered my dash It looked about as bad as that one!!! The big gaps I filled in with HD Foam, (I have a friend in the Foam Business) used contact cement to glue down.. then a ROLOC scotch-brite pad on an angle die grinder to "SHAPE" the foam... The rest of the small cracks (so they didn't show through) I used just Regular ole' Body filler to smooth the cracks and edges.. Then covered... I had a guy do the stitching and the Aclantera was from "The headliner doctor" . The Bottom was Marine vinyl from Jo-ann fabrics.. If you want some foam PM me and Ill send you some, its about the same density as original

That looks good, Glen. I have some high-density "casting foam" I'm going to try. If it doesn't work out, I'll let you know.

I ordered a tail light lens from Lart for my 87S. I got the car out of storage after two years and it didn't disappoint. These cars, when well maintained, really stand up. I put the battery in and it fired right up. I'm cleaning it up/getting it ready to move it along to a new owner. There isn't enough time to drive this one after I bought my turbo and it's a shame because this S was almost boring in how reliable it was.

New shocks and strut cartridges, wow what a difference, it's like a whole different car.

1) I had a window switch not working. Instead of checking the fuse first, which was blown, I took apart the switch. I couldn't get it back together with the two ball bearings. Finally I put a dab of dielectric grease on the springs and they stuck in place (upside down) so I could put that switch back together. Actually, my wife with her smaller hands did it for me. Now I joke that she fixed my Porsche yesterday, which she did.

2) I ordered a wind deflector and hinges since it was missing when I bought it. Had to get a new center bezel too, the hooked part of the plastic was broken. That might be why the deflector was gone, could have blown off in the wind. Or maybe the PO just took it off and threw it away. It's a mystery.

What are you going to recover it with? DIY leather or vinyl or take to an upholstery place? Also, how long did it take to remove the dash?

Not illegal in the US anyway, just "discouraged".

To "legally" buy and use R12 you need an EPA certification in the US, which costs $25 and you need to complete a multiple choice test on-line. You then receive an EPA Certification as a Mobile HVAC Technician and you can buy and use R-12.

Finished today my wasted spark installation.
Without doubt, this is another great improvement over the stock ignition system.
I really recommend doing that.

Finished re-building my driver's side door latch. I panicked at the last when I closed the door without thinking, then remembered I had the inside door card off and the inner handle disassembled. When I tried the outside handle nothing happened. Crawled over the center console and tried opening it from the inside but that didn't work either.

I got out to get a pair of pliers to pull on the cable with, crawled back over the center console, then decided to check the door locks before pulling on the cable. Sure enough, the door was locked.

Opened right up after that.
