They aren't perfect and they need to seat a bit after getting some use...but they are pretty damn beautiful.

Correction: they are perfect.

I agree, great find Morghen! What was the fate of the donor car?

Did you warm the housing and freeze the shell? I am curious if those are a tolerance fit and worried about deforming the bushing.

That's really a great idea. I may do that on my Tacoma.

Was under the car last night and found that one of the 4 crossmember bolts was partially backed out... turned out the threads were boogered up. Luckily it was just the bolt. Can't imagine the bad day that would have resulted if the other bolt on that side of the car gave way from the increased load.

Had the clutch finally give out on my DD '84 yesterday. Today's project: get the thing towed home, and open the wallet for a clutch kit... Guess I know what I'm doing with my week off after Memorial Day...

one time i was under there investigating a weird steering feel...

1 of the 4 bolts that holds the steering rack to the crossmember had sheared off completely at the head, and the one below it was loose...

Finished the clutch and rear bearing job on the 87 S. It shifts wonderfully now (and I thought it was warn syncros).

However, I noticed some damage to the starter solenoid and sure enough during the test drive the started turned on and it wouldn't shut off. Burning smell and even after the car was shut off the starter continued to spin. It stopped finally and now won't start so I'm hoping just the solenoid is toast...I'll be bench-testing the starter motor later this weekend.
