1,200 miles from Vegas to Great Falls MT .... cruised between 85 and 105 the whole time (GPS avg speed is 79mpg ... with 1 stop for gas and sleep)

valentine 1 got all the cops far enough ahead for me to slow down...... briefly

Got a few good runs up to 110-115 (GPS has 116mph as my max)

Only fault was my oil pressure sender went...... again (cheap URO replacement) Its pegged at 5 bar after the engine gets hot.

And through the whole trip, at good speeds, I got 31.7mpg!!

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!! (and now that I've said that, something will brake lol)

Well yesterday I towed it home. On Saturday I ran the fastest lap at NASA Nationals in 944 spec of entire weekend at 2:19.282 and in the afternoon lead some 10-15 laps of the National championship race. Finished 4th out of 34 cars.

Congratulations! That must be an amazing feeling to be leading in a National race with 33 cars behind you! So what's your speed secret, other than "hiring" a great driver?

As to the original question, "What did you do to your 944..."

A whole lot: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...s-weekend.html

My speed secret was to take tire temps all day on Wednsday during testing. I make 2 camber adjustments and 2 sway bar adjustments. Then I put some gas in her and some 2 heat cycle R888 and wend for it!.

As for leading 33 other cars... Well amazing really.... I actually let it get to me a little and made a couple small errors that allowed the pack to close back up. Then the war was on and I held them off as long as I could. As for the car... I beat the snot out of it! It held up fine.

Keep me in mind if you need a sports agent. TRG is probably looking for you right now!

I vacuumed her, polished the hood with some Mothers.

Oh...a guy I know gave me a cool detailing tip:

While holding the vacuum...use a paint brush (1 inch or more) to sweep off the dust in the dash crevaces and vents with the vac nozzle in tow. The vacuum sucks it out as its loosened. My vents look brand new!

YESTERDAY I went for a pleasure drive. It was wet out and drizzling, but I had FUN! Friend of mine with a 350 horse FC RX7, went out on the drive with me and we had fun chasing each other around. Both our cars are black, and from a distance, look similar lol. MAN that was fun. I love hitting some good B roads.

Finally put the 993 Cup II's on.....they really do change the look of the car. I gained 15 HP.......I swear. Now all I need is a 951 to put them on....it's coming.

Today I investigated the fluid on the garage floor, fearing it was coolant. the good new is that I haven't, yet, leaked all the powerstering fluid out.

I am looking a the Manual conversion as ther is a lot of crap invlolved in pluggin, stopping, and repairing all the leaks.
