Not exactly concourse level, but it cleans up well. Dropped it off the jacks, washed, waxed, vacuumed and running awesome. By the way, that fluid under the fenders is water…
Not my house, a facility owned by my employer and a good place for pics.
The Grey/Burgundy color combo makes finding interior parts tough, but I love it.
Idling, all the needles are where they belong.
A few of the superficial things I did over the winter:
New hood liners using the free decals handed out at 2012 944Fest.
Cargo cover rebuilt, edges of new vinyl roll cover need a touch-up, I’ll get it:
Carpet backing rebuilt so it doesn’t fall into wheel well area (way more work than I thought it would/should be):
Many other things too numerous to name (or even remember)....

I opened up the car shelter where shes stored for the winter to look at the condition of the battery tray.
it was betetr than I thought, did some sanding, cleaned it real nice and put on some clear coat tremclad.
theres one thing i found that made me curious, theres a cylinder type thing next to the battery, top right, with a wire going to it.
can you please tell me what that is.
i feel dumb for asking.

Took the car out of storage and brought it home. Yahoo!
We got our first rain in quite a while so I decided to let Mother Nature deal with the dust from the past four months.

Three Wheelin'
This long weekend I fitted my 968 door cards but with 944 door pockets. WTB: 10 speaker door pockets.
I pulled my gauges again and adjusted the speedo needle as it was reading 10kph too low. I got my trip meter reset aligned properly so it works this time. i also fitted these quad LED's.
my plastic air duct #2 is busted and the leading edge isn't shaped to match my CGTS front spoiler. i.e. it will bolt to my radiator but won't fit my front spoiler.
I did a quick cardboard silhouette to incorporate a bit of a splitter. I'll take it to one of my workmates to see if he can make me this air duct + splitter from sheetmetal. Do you guys think this is an ok approach or should I just worry about the air duct?
He would of course measure, shape and cut it properly.

Today I tried to figure out how to install an early metal engine undertray on a late car. It looks like I might need to make some brackets/modifications.

I drove the 944 around all day on Saturday, stopped at a store, came out to my car to see that it dumped every ounce of coolant out on the road. This is the second time it's done this in the past 3 months. Has anyone else had this issue?

a week a go the Hall Sensor connector shattered when I bumped it troubleshooting the HCV. got back to the shop this past weekend and spliced the Hall sensor wiring. so car is running again.
did more troubleshooting on my HCV, zip tying it closed and the hot air stopped coming through the vents. so I guess it must be either the HVAC control in the dash or some leak in the dash.
got the PS reservoir replaced along with the hose.
got the new Koni shocks, so next is to 'modify' the sealed struts from my 87 944S and get them together to install.
hoping I will be able to drive the car this coming weekend.

The car has an almost brand new radiator in it, and the radiator seemed to keep some of the coolant in it, which kept the car from over heating. I think it has to be a hose since just the resevoir drained. Do you think its something as simple as a cracked hose?

could also be the headgasket or H20 pump going.
if it's the H20 pump, the belts will evaporate the coolant leaving you scratching your head for the location of the leak.
check the timing belt for coolant.

Check the lower radiator hose, if it gets to close to the power steering pulley.. It gets a hole sliced in it. Ask me how I know haha
