Finally got around to fixing the power steering. The pump mount broke 3 years back that caused damage to a couple of the PS lines. So I pulled the belt. Well I finally got around to removing the pump and repairing the mounting points and reconstructing the mounting hardware. I also replace the high pressure line and repaired the line to the cooler as well as repaired the plastic clip that holds the line out of the way (it was broken when the pump mount broke).

Anyway 4-5 hours of screwing around and what not I got it all back together and it works and no leaks!!!!!

Power Steering is so under rated!!!!!! I can turn the wheel in the parking lot with one hand now!!!!

yes, it doesnt meet all criteria. mainly because it is LHD when RHD 968s were available in NZ at the time of its manufacture.

I finally finished replacing my vacuum lines.
Filled up my new OEM battery with acid.
Cleaned all the crap off of the cam housing cover, area under the intake, intake manifold, throttle body, and AFM.
Made my J boot and airbox shiney
Slightly bent my AFM wiper arm so it doesn't ride in the grooves anymore
Vacuumed out the battery box, cleaned it with some degreaser/water, cleaned the drain, and took care of a few rust patches (luckily it was't rusted through yet).

Does anyone have the part number for the plastic piece between the windshield and the engine bay? Mine is cracked like no tomorrow

Thinned the herd by 1, sold the too-fah. Still no time to play on the others.

(including battery removal), i cleaned out the entire area of the engine compartment on both sides where leaves,

dirt and moisture collect and wreak havoc.... took the better part of an hour, but i cleaned the entire area spotless....

(looking good) and no rust forming anywhere.

80% done of the new intercooler tubing(mockup ready). old one was designed for a big front bumper, now the same system must fit under the 951 bumper.

LOL. no different than cleaning anyplace else that gets greasy and grimy, full of rotting leaves, etc.... gotta admit, i like how Porsche designed this part of the 968 for easy cleaning (and draining). i started with bonding the sheet metal under the battery with Devcon plastic welder epoxy last summer, so the metal isn't exposed to the elements or battery acid anymore. my interstate battery is also a big help as it seems to be designed not to leak acids. i've had the battery 3 years and no signs of leakage under the battery or on the terminals.... for cleaning, i start by pulling the big stuff with the help of the garden hose on slow and just letting the water work around all the nooks and crannies with my fingers pulling pine needles and gook out.... and after the big stuff, get on it with the Simple Green degreaser (spray bottle) and a couple of rags on the end of a big screwdriver to get the hard to reach areas (like around the fuse box).... then repeat again with a bottle of alcohol... the alcohol is really good because it's a drying agent. you really don't want this area to be saturated with moisture too long.
